kids cups with lids - need help

We use the Take & toss sippy and straw cups. We don't toss them though, we wash them and reuse them. The straw fits in so tight that when they are knocked over they don't spill.

I still have my 9-year-old (and his friends) use the Tupperware Impressions when they're downstairs in the family room. Cuts down on spills.

And I agree with others -- while the Tupperware is expensive, it lasts and lasts.

I was just going to mention them.

My kids use them for school. It is a straw & the lid closes shut & their drinks are still cold when they come home from school.

My dd also uses the thermos soup container & says her soup is still warm at lunch time.

I LOVE these containers! Brought them to Disney in Oct and the kids drinks stayed cold all day and they are good for everything from water to milk to juice. They actually make adult themed ones that I bought for myself DH SIL and BIL for our next disney trip in Sept.. our "adult" containers last year got warm and would sweat.. check the Thermos site too!

Replacement straws for which? The Tupperware use regular straws, the Themos, I haven't been able to find replacements.

They have replacement straws for the Thermos ones.. it is on the little booklet that comes in the container when you purchase it.. I would go to the site and call customer service.. ther straws are very durable though

We are not fans of the Take and Toss... although our son used them for a good two years. He loved them but grew out once he figured out how to drink from a regular straw/lid cup. It takes a bit more energy and effort to drink from a Take and Toss. If your child is thirsty he wont get much from them very fast.

When we are on vacation we get the Solo kid cups that come with straws and lids. I rinse them out and reuse a few times, so it's not a complete waist.

Good luck finding something.:thumbsup2

And by the way... I was a bit offended by all the "special needs" comments. It's like that's a terrible thing or something. My son does have special needs but drinks fine from an open cup at 4yrs old.

My issue with the take n toss has been that the drink would come back up thru the straw once it sat for awhile. It would drive me crazy to find a cup sitting on the table with juice/milk/whatever coming up thru the straw!

I do love the funtainer by Thermos. My kids have several, some leak, though. At the beginning of school, they sold bigger versions and I do not like them because the bottle sweats. I cannot put it in a bag because everything gets wet.

I have the Tupperware cups that we use almost daily (my kids are 10, 6) and love them. Another option I found, at our local thrift store I found old refillable Disney mugs with the wide bottom. My kids use these alot at home and I put a straw in it. Don't worry, I washed the cups well before I gave them to my littles! :thumbsup2

Yes!! That was always a pain in the drain!

we also use take in toss in the parks but for day to day we use Nalgeen sport kid cups almost in destructable. BUT they are pricey, if you check around you might find a deal but otherwise in the car or traveling I perfer the Nalgeens as they don't leak, will contain the smell and look more like an adult water bottle. Plus they have loops that you can tie them to things with.

I have even bought them for my nephews and they are a much loved cup

Our DD has been using a Nalgene without the valve since last Summer. We explained that she need to keep the bottle upright to keep it from leaking and she'e done great with it, but it's nice to have the valve for kids who aren't quite there yet in understanding about leaking cups. She has a Camelbak too, but we use the Nalgene far more often.

I used the Tupperware Impressions Tumblers. They are a regular cup, but have a lid you can use w/a straw hole. When a straw isn't in they are sealed and pretty much don't leak.

They are pricy but I bought a set 8 years ago w/my oldest and they still work great, 3 kids later. I still use them w/the list when we do movie night and every day otherwise.

We use the exact same set. We have had them for like 8 years now, with 2 kids and they are still in great condition. When even out the cost over the years..............

DD is 4.5 and uses a sippy cup at night...she's like me and needs to have a drink handy, but needs something spill proof or it'll be all over the bed. I just bought her a straw cup that claims to be spill proof, so it's more like a water bottle than a sippy, only it (hopefully!) won't leak all over.
