Hi All~My intent here isnt' to start a debate about ethics, just to get some information to think about. My youngest daughter is 2, but she will be 3 four days after we return from Disney. She is completely potty trained. Is it possible to, well, fudge her age and say she is 3? I am not sure I would even do this but wanted to see if anyone else had any experiences with it. I am also considering KNO, but am a little uncomfortable with it (I've read all the threads about it on the various boards). Please no judgements and TIA!!!!

I'm a rule follower, so if she needs to be 3, she needs to be 3, and it wouldn't even register as a question for me.

But, to each their own.

She's not 3. Are you going to instruct her to lie if they ask her how old she is?

I would call and ask - explain she is PT and turning 3 in just a few days. If they bend their rules, they do. I would not lie, though.

I would assume they would be able to look up your info and find that she doesn't have a ticket and therefore isn't 3 (or think that you're lying about something else).

Personally I wouldn't do it. They have the ages for a reason.

Are you paying for her as if she was 3 the entire time? IE: are you paying for tickets and brunches?

Food yes - we are getting all counter service and IF we get a buffet I would pay for her because she eats...a lot and that doesn't seem right to not pay, tickets no. You have to pay for the kids clubs however, so I'm not trying to get something for free. Non-guests can use the kids clubs so they wouldn't have information about them, I wouldn't think.

Thank you to Minnesota! for giving me some thoughts. I will try that and see what they say!

Here's the thing. If she's under 3, you don't need to buy her a ticket. If she's under 3, she doesn't get to use the kids club. If you decide to fudge her age to get her in the kids club, then you are going to have to buy her a ticket.

Personally, I would NOT lie about my child's age in either direction.

I would call and ask. At our local Ikea, the official rule for entry into Smalland is that you have to be age 3 and fully potty trained. On several occassions when I had my nearly 3yo son with me as we dropped off my 5 year old, they would ask if he wanted to come in too. I'd always say that he wasn't 3 yet and they always followed with an offer to take him if he was potty trained. Obviously a different company, but wouldn't hurt to ask.

Please only helpful information, you are welcome to your opinions but I am asking for something helpful or people's experiences.

The thing is whomever you get on the phone now is likely not to be working when you get there, if you can even get to talk to someone at all outside of the reservation cm who are offsite for the most part. The age rules are based on Florida daycare regulations. The different ages have different caregiver ratios. So you two year old is going to change what their staffing needs are, if they are even licensed for that young. Also, you said your child was potty trained. Is she completely independent? As in know when she has to go. Go by herself to the stall, lock it, undress, go, clean herself up (1&2) redress, deal with any buttons/zippers etc, unlock the door and wash her hands. All by herself without assistance of any kind. My dd1 was potty trained at 2 but still needed some assistance well into the 3 year old range even later for some buttons.
Three is three. Your child is not three. If it is important that she go you can change the dates of your trip so that she is 3 when you go.

I personally wouldn't do it. My DS has gone to the kids' clubs a number of times and there is paperwork you need to sign. If you lie about your daughter's age and then something happens to her, I would imagine Disney would not be liable at all because you didn't follow the rules.

We went on a Disney cruise a few years ago and my DS was turning 4 during the trip. The day before his birthday we were docking in a port that offered a dolphin adventure for ages 4 and up. I called DCL to see if we could book it and the answer was no even though he was turning 4 the very next day. Because of liability issues, there were no exceptions.

We used KNO before my DS went to the kids clubs and KNO was fantastic. We've used them three times. Very professional and capable. I would look into this option!
