Kids Clubs at the Resorts

Does anyone have any experiences to share about the clubs at the WDW resorts? We have always used in-room care, but now our little one is old enough for the clubs. Here are a few questions:

What are the checkin/out procedures? How do they ensure that a child is returned to the person who is "authorized" to take them out of the club?

The age range is 4 to 12. That is a wide range. Are there age appropriate activities? Will my 4 year old get lost is the shuffle of older kids?

Who staffs the clubs? What is the staff to child ratio?

Do they require reservations? If yes, when can I make those?

What are the activities?

Which resort has the best club? We stay at the BCV, so the Sandcastle club is a likely choice for us, but if we go over to the MK area, there are many other choices (Poly, GF, etc.). Has anyone used the AKL club? WL?

Thanks!

My kids enjoyed their evening at the Sandcastle. Don't know if I can answer all your questions but I'll try a few.

I remember having to show my DL to pick up the kids and we filled out paper work at drop off. They gave us a beeper in case they needed us to call in.

My children were 6 and 9. There were 2 staff on duty that night for maybe 10-12 kids. There was an art table set up with Valentines art projects that my DD liked a lot. My DS played with legos and the computers. DD used the video games (all free) extensively. There was a disney moving showing which the kids watched while they ate their dinner (mine had grilled cheese and chix strips, both came with fresh fruit and fries). I remember seeing a playhouse area and lots of other toys.

The two ladies on duty were very sweet and my children have asked to return next trip.

It's been a while but we used the Neverland Club at the Polynesian a few times and our son loved it. You do need to make ressies ahead of time, I'm not sure of the time but do call CRO if you have any questions. You can also tour the facilities if you're unsure, we did and it looked like a fun place for the kids with a lot of staff. If I remember right we had to show ID to pick up DS plus his running up to me yelling "Mommy, look!" probably helped. ;)

I believe that there's info about the childcare on this website and at wdwig.com. Good luck!

My DD stayed at Simba's Clubhouse in the AKL. She LOVED it!!!! We were trying BOMA's for the first time, and I wasn't sure if she'd like it. She had seen something about the Clubhouse and asked to try it. She was only there for an hour - but she had so much fun. There was a Disney movie playing, lots of games to play, video games, and Allison's favorite was markers to color with!!! She got to pick what she wanted for dinner (hotdog, FF, choc milk). There were two ladies there, and about 7 or 8 kids. All the kids looked like they were having a lot of fun. I felt comfortable leaving my 5 yr old there. I had made a reservation ahead of time for her.
