Hello all!
I have 2 daughters 8 and 10. However my 10 year old will turn 11 the first day of our cruise.
How strict are they on not letting kids over 10 in? We definitely want to keep them together.
Would love to hear others experiences with that.

Very strict. Your 11 year old will be in Edge except for during open house. Is there a chance you can switch to an earlier sailing?

DCL will have kids even age up (or out in the case of Vibe) mid cruise. If you can sail on an earlier date I would if you want them in Oceaneers together.

Agree with above -- DCL is very strict with upper age limits for the kids' clubs. Your older daughter will not be allowed at the Club/Lab except during posted "open house" times, which do occur daily. If it's really important to you as a family to keep the kids together, you will need to change to a cruise that is fully prior to the birthday.

If they're too old for a club, they're too old for a club. Disney Cruise Line will not bend these rules. Your soon to be 11 year old would likely be sent to Edge instead of Oceaneer.

Thanks for the info everyone. What a bummer. I can understand the age thing to a point. But if you have kids close in age i'm sure you can understand how separating them just wont work. They do everything together so just makes no sense to separate them on vacation. There should be exceptions with an 11 year old has a younger sibling, in my opinion.
But in any case, it is what is it.
We got in to a cruise 6/26, a few weeks before she turns 11. So we'll be good for this year.

I hear you. However families have all different expectations. Siblings, cousins, friends traveling together. How close is close in age -- 1 year, 2 years, 5 years? Exceptions for 8 and 11 then translates to an exception for 10 and 13? DCL can't really "win" this issue no matter what they do. They used to allow exceptions (many years ago now) until an incident occurred which resulted in very strict upper age limits due to liability. In the past couple of years they have gotten somewhat tighter on the Club/Lab, with a special grouping for 3-4 yr olds separate from the older kids, and most recently removing the overlap age (11-12) with Edge. Presumably all driven by liability. But there are Open House times when anyone can visit the kids' clubs.

if it makes you feel better, I sailed with my 3 daughters 12, 10, and 8- the 8 yr old did fine in kids club by herself. My 10 yr old didn't want to go to the club any more. they hung out together at the pool, movie theaters, midship detective agency, crafts, drawing, trivia. My girls are homeschooled and very used to being together, but wasn't a big deal. My 12 yr old wasnt into the edge, so my 10 yr old went there by herself too.
