Can you enroll a child in a kids club program if you aren't staying at a the hotel?? Also, our son will be turning 5 on our next trip. I am considering enrolling him because he craves contact with other children and he will be on a 10 day trip with me, DH and his grandparents. He is an only child. Would it be too much or should I look into it?

I can tell you that my six year old son (a VERY social only child who loves nothing more than being with other kids) LOVES LOVES LOVES going to the Kid's Clubs at Disney World. We always let him go at least one night, and he always is begging us to come back later when we show up to get him. He also begs to go back another night...which we sometimes agree to. The one at the Poly is his favorite, but he also really enjoys the one at the Beach Club. You do not have to be a resort guest to use the Kids Clubs, but you should make reservations because they do sometimes fill up.

Other opportunities for "kid" time are the different kids Pirate Cruises and the Wonderland Tea Party. Those are kid only events....and I think they run about $30 these days. My son has done all the cruises and the Tea Party and loves them all! These spots are filled quickly, so early reservations are important. If you want more information about those, let me know.

My kids love the priate cruises. They are going on their second one at Easter. They are so cool and are "kid" only adventures. My kids started going at age 4 and still at age 7 they love it.

Check into it - it is a great value for $30.00 for 2 hours. We scheduled a nice brunch during the cruise.

Agreed! When my son was younger he loved the kids clubs and the Pirate cruises.

He went to the kids club this past trip at 11 yo and when DH and I picked him up, he asked that we don't make him go back. Its geared toward younger kids. Though last year at 10 yo he was still OK. DD (6) loved it though.

He has done every Pirate Cruise and has been to the Sandcastle Club and the Neverland Club and never complained until this year.

I think I am going to look into it for him. This trip is going to be at least 10 days for him, maybe 11. So, I would love to have a day for him to go to a kids club and possibly hang out at the pool in the evening. At the same time, I don't want to over schedule him, just in case he wants to just hang out at the room. He is pretty good at letting us know when he has met his limit and we respect that.

Just an FYI....the Kids Clubs are only open in the evenings. Most open at 4pm or so, I think. Maybe 5pm. The other kids-only activities (Pirate Cruises and Tea Party) are in the day...mostly in the mid-morning or so, depending on the specific activity.

Is it ok to leave WDW property whilst they are in there? We are hoping to place our boy's in the club while we go to Premium outlets to do some shopping in peace.

They usually give you a beeper or ask for a cell phone so they can contact you if they need you.

You all answered a great deal of questions that I had so thank you. We have a 4 and 7 year old, both boys. We def. wanted to do the Pirate Cruise and the Wonderland Tea Party...I just didn't really think about what my DH and I will do druing that time?

I guess one Cruise is done in MK so we could ride some rides and the Tea Party we could walk around for a bit.

I never really thought about the kids center though....and now I am. I nice dinner out would be great. Does anyone know the cost?

Thank you!!!
