We're taking our 2 little ones (3 yo ds and 1 yo dd) and I'm wondering if there's a moderate resort that would be more fun for them than another. We've been thinking about going to POP b/c of price and the fact that I think ds would love lots of the icons there...Jungle Book, Potato Head, Play-Doh, etc. Also the pools sound really fun for him. But, I've gotten advice on these boards that the moderates are really worth the extra money in room size and amenities so now we're thinking of that route. I've been looking at POFQ, but it looks really adult-geared to me. Is that a misconception on my part? What do you all think about the preferred mod for small children? Thanks!!!

I think any of the moderates would be great for kids. It's mostly a matter of taste, what you find visually appealing, etc.

I personally love the POFQ--it's my favorite of all the resorts. It's very bright and colorful. Your kids will love looking at the alligator statues and masks in the food court and near the pool. There is a lot to look at.

One advantage to the POFQ over the other moderates is the size. It's a lot smaller than the other moderates, so it's a lot easier to get around. Even the most remote room will be an easy walk to the bus stop and the food court--some of the other moderates can be a lengthy walk to the food court, although most rooms will have a bus stop within a five minute walk.

Let us know what you decide to do!

We chose POR for our Oct2003 stay. We had DS 4 & DD 5 with us. They loved the pool and play area. They also enjoyed eating at the food court and Bob in the lounge entertained them one late evening after the parks. It was an unexpected "extra" to have the kids at 10 pm singing and dancing and parading around the lounge to Bobs piano playing. I would recommend POR. The theming is terrific for both the kids and the adults.

I love POFQ for the size. It is the smallest of all the moderates and very easy to get around. You are never that far from things like at a lot of the resorts. It is also a lovely set up.

I agree that you will enjoy any of the moderates.

I'll take a different view & recommend Coronado Springs. It's primarily a convention hotel, but the advantage lies in the pools & buses not being as crowded. There's a very nice & large main pool, with slides, and a giant Aztec temple adjoining the pool.

There's also plenty for the adults as well, with the health club & water sports available. The sit-down restaurant was good, but pricey. It's also a very peaceful resort - not a lot of noise.

The rooms are larger than the Pop/All Stars, but don't expect anything unusually large or fancy. They're simple, clean & functional - not a whole lot more.

CSR!! Check out my website below for more info. Best pool of all the mods, no shared transportation and beautiful grounds. I'll see you there because we'll be going at that same time. Also read this thread CSR Thread
