Are people seeing kids at Jock Lindsey's? I know it's primarily a bar, but I thought it would make a good light meal or snack, especially if we are at DTD/DS anyway or are staying at POR. I know that I can take DS10 in, but I want to be considerate and follow the trend. It's the price you pay when you have children. Thanks

We were there in October for a drink and did not see any kids in the place. That being said, it was relatively slow at the time (mid-day). It's a small place and seems like it would be boring for kids. I don't think it would be a problem bringing kids in there, especially during the day, but I'd be hesitant to bring small kids later on when it's more crowded and you're in close proximity of your neighbors.

We plan on bringing ours. They are huge Indiana Jones fans and are excited to go. :)

We will have to show the first movie to DS again, so that he can remember who Jock Lindsey is. He's always wanting to watch the second one though:(

A Little warning on Jock's food. Order carefully. If you have a kid who doesn't like spicy food you might have some issues. The Ra sampler plate and the tunis tacos were on the spicy side. Even my friend who has a stronger tolerance for spicy food thought it was too much. Just a heads up.

DS is picky, but I think he would eat the pretzels, injera and naan crisps, or the bratwurst, probably plain for all of these. I think we would only stay for an app or two and a drink.

heads up- the pretzels are topped with seeds like an everything bagel and served with a spicy mustard and beer cheese sauce. The cheese sauce is extremely tasty for my adult palate- but its nothing like normal liquid cheese the kiddos may be used to. The bratwurst aren't too spicy- but have a good flavor, however they are just the sausages, a few pickles, and some pickled veggies- no bun included with this one. The naan and injara bread is included with the snack of ra- however is unable to be ordered separately. It is used to dip into the variety of salad/dips. The chicken wings can be ordered plain and is a good option for children who can tolerate chicken off the bone. The fried calamari is also a good option for the kids if they don't mind seafood.

Went once during the day for an afternoon stop, there were a couple kids in there, like 8/9 and up. Went on a Sunday evening around 8:30 pm and only saw one kid and he was about 12. It was full at night.

I got the pretzels, they were good as was the cheese dip but the mustard dip was kinda hot and strangely spiced so I asked for more cheese.

We sat in the dive bell last trip - where I wanted first trip but it was occupied. There are lots of cool things to look at.

My son is jealous; we still won't let him watch #2. Though he recently watched a big long behind the scenes DVD that showed quite a lot of the gross stuff from that movie, so the time is drawing closer.

What's funny is that until this bar was announced, I thought the guy was *Jacques*!!!!

Oh and I would totally take my son there.

I doubt he'd find it boring, and I'm sure he'd find something to eat.

Not all kids are raised on cheese-like goop and plain yellow mustard.

Let us know how it goes. I'd love to hear how other appetizers are.

I have seen a few kids there in the evenings.

They don't have any typical "kid food" but more adventurous kids should find something they like to eat. Plenty of nonalcoholic beverages available.

If you are planning on sitting indoors, it's small and might fill up. There is a lot more seating available on the patio but no "artifacts"

We walked through last week at about 2pm. with our kids. There were other kids in there with their parents. I had heard that the place was small, but I was surprised at just how small it was.

Definitely will. DS is so picky that he will probably just eat bread and sausage, no dips or cheese. However, he sometimes likes spicy mustard:confused3 The pretzels may be out since they have seeds. I wish I knew why he was so picky:sad2: We make it eat what we eat at home, no special meals for him.

I didn't realize it was that small. The building looks big. Luckily, the weather should be good in March, so sitting outside will probably work.

We'll be at DTD (someday I'll switch to the new acronym) on January 29th. I plan to stop by for apps and drinks because I'm a huge Indiana jones fan. We'll have four kids with us - from 3 to 12 in age. If someone isn't keen on staying, my husband and I can always divide and conquer. I'm staying at the Poly with my mom and toddler in May. A trip to TS is already planned.

remember with Trader Sams anybody under age 21 has to be out at 8 PM sharp...no age restrictions at all for Jock's.

I'd kind of hoped it was like Trader Sams with no one under age 21 after 8pm. I was surprised when it wasn't.

I'd think it was ok to bring in kids since they don't have that rule.
