DH and I went into NYC yesterday to see a show (Hairspray.. good, but not as good as Wicked). The kids stayed with MIL while we were gone. Wouldn't you know it, while we were on our way home, DD2.5 vomitted all over MIL. Seems there's a stomach bug going around and DD picked it up. :sad2: Thankfully, DD hasn't sicked up since then, but she did run a fever off and on all night last night.

DS5 seemed fine today; he went to school, came home, ate his lunch and then laid down for a nap before swim lessons. Well, he didn't want to get out of bed to go to swim lessons. In light of DD being sick, I let DS stay in bed, figuring he might be coming down with the same bug and I'd rather let him get his rest, just in case.

We're supposed to be hosting the ILs for Christmas Eve Dinner. If one or both of the kids are still sick later tomorrow, though, I may just postpone dinner until New Year's Eve.

Thanks! I think they'll be fine in time for Christmas. Our neighbor's daughters had the same thing about Mon./Tues. and are over it now.

I'm not sure if it would be good or bad if we had to postpone dinner with the ILs. I honestly wouldn't mind putting off the cleaning and cooking.

I hope your DS is feeling better!

He got better in 48 hours..Hopefully yours will do the same.

chills and fever for me. I think it is affecting people all over. Half of my sons class has been out for the past couple of days . We have already cancelled our party for saturday.

There is definitely something going around. My son, my husband, and I had it for about 36 hours and my dd2 had it for 7 days! We all finally got rid of it about a week ago, but now my daughter has a nasty ear infection (her first one), and a high fever, with bad congestion, which now I have picked up. Hopefully we get rid of this nasty bug before Christmas Eve. I hope your little ones are feeling better soon!

I'm sorry, but Hairspray OWNS Wicked. :teeth:

DH had bought tix for my Christmas gift, but mistakenly bought them for November 29th instead of December 29th. Thankfully, the theater will let you exchange unused tix for new ones on days they aren't sold out. DH was concerned that we wouldn't get good seats. When we were seated in row H of the orchestra section, I told DH, "Yeah, terrible seats. " We were so close that we could easily spot the mikes on everyone's heads, which was annoying after a while.

I thought the stage production of Hairspray, while good, relied too much on cliche'd stereotypes. I know, that's part of the show, but at times it made the show feel like a high school theater production. The acting and singing were great. But I didn't think the dancing stood out.

:grouphug: to everyone else who's dealing with illness in the family right now.
