Told the dd's last night and they are excited. DD 8 is more excited than dd 14 but no surprise there. She is a teen. We do have a plan. We are doing US/IOA and Sea World. I am figuring 1 day for Sea World, at least 2 days for US/IOA and then a down day. Still not sure on the water park. Dh says no, he doesn't want to go. He would rather not rush and enjoy US/IOA/SW than rush just so we can go to a waterpark. We are staying at the Hilton Grand on Int'l Drive in a 2 br villa. Beautiful pool so we can do that. So what do you think??? Is that enough? We will have 7 days total but 2 will be travel days. Thanks in advance!

Can I come  your plan sounds sooooooo nice. That "down" day is a good idea so that if there is one thing you especially lived (like one of the Univeral parks) you can add it on - for even part of the day. You just might want to.

I'd side with your DH on the water park, but that's just me. US has a fun water play area that I'll bet even your teenager will enjoy (Curious George).

Thanks....

I am so excited and I know you are going to be so sick of hearing that. We have NEVER been on a vacation with the kids. We have camped a lot and love doing that. We have always spent our money on other things even this year I had a hard time convincing dh that we needed to go on a real vacation to one of those places he didn't really want to go. So that is the reason for my enthusiasm. I hope you will be patient with me. I really am like a kid before Christmas.:yay: :yay: :yay:

We vacation every summer, usually in FL because my sister lives there. But I get that excited every single time. Last year we did a nice WDW trip and I sat and made a Mickey paper chain countdown (ripped off a link each day for 60 days :rotfl: ) Said it was "for the kids" but ....well, the kids were 11 and 14.

This year.....well, here we are in mid-March and I have a day-by-day itinerary planned already for our June trip. I'll start my paper chain in another 2 weeks maybe :lmao: .

I LOOOOVE Universal and you will too. It's like WDW on steroids! We haven't been there for a few years and a lot has changed. So anytime you want to talk about your excitement or if your real life friends think you're crazy for intensely planning for a far-off trip, just come right back here.

Oh gosh, your teen will LOVE it!

I went for my 14th birthday last year.

It was SO amazing!! If she's up for thrill rides, then IoA is the way to go. The Hulk is amazing, as is Spiderman, Dueling Dragons, Popeye and Bluto's Bilge-Rat Barges, Jurassic Park River Adventure, Dr.Doom's FearFall, and Dudley Do-Right's Ripsaw Falls. Your 8 yo will like the Camp Jurassic play area, as well as Suess Landing.

At USO, Revenge of the Mummy is absoultely incredible. More fun things to do here.

Relax, and enjoy!

OH AND HAVE FUN!!! :wizard:

Oh I want to start one but it would be over 200 links long :lmao: lol. Guess I should wait awhile huh? Have fun on your trip!!!! :cheer2:

Hmmm...paper chain. Very interesting. Sounds like a great idea. For the kids of course...:teeth:

Don't worry...I'll be talking about our trip. And I really appreciate that this board is so welcoming to newbies. :thanks:

Thank you so much! I think she will like it too. And you are right about Jurassic Park. That is all my 8 year old has talked about. She loves the movie so I think that will be her favorite part. Thanks for your help!

I would have to make one anyway...for the kids of course. I can't wait. Off to find more trip reports...:dance3:

My link is in my siggie :thumbsup2

hope you like it - also highly recommend Bubba's Mom's and Alexandnessa's - they are a trip:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

You sound just as excited as I am for 1st family vacation ever to Universal in a months time. I'm so excited I can't stand it! I just get the look from my DH like I'm some weird person. I haven't done the paper chain but a countdown calendar that breaks down how far we are from our trip. I hope you have a great time and it seems like you might be there the same time we are! :thumbsup2

Yep, it does look like we will be there at the same time. I'm still excited and so are the girls. I haven't had much time to think about it the last couple of days but ready to start planning again.

My daughter just turned 14 and since our first visit to Universal in 2000, its been her favorite theme park- DH's and mine too.
