Is there anyway to put a designated amount for each kid to use on the ship? Or does it all go to the stateroom together? My kids have been saving money and Disney Dollars and I was hoping I could put them toward their own account. I think I have read that the kids can have spending limits set. Is that the case?
Thanks for any information you can give me

I can't answer your question about limits but I wanted to give a warning! When I checked in at the port, I said I only wanted the "adult" cards to be able to charge. The 2nd day on board I let the kids (DS8 DD9) go to the arcade a few min. ahead of us. When we got there the kids were SO EXCITED! They said LOOK, we put our KTTW card in that machine over there and it gave us all these arcade cards!!!!! I was horrifed to see they had bought 100.00 worth of cards!!! Thankfully they had not had time to use them yet and we took them right down to guest services and turned them back in for a credit. I then had charging prevedges removed from the kids cards. I was told then, that all cards are issued can be used to charge to the room. If you do not wish to be able to charge you must take care of it at Guest Services once on board.

Sorry, but if you choose that your children have charge privileges, they will be able to use without limits. I would consider the refillable soda mugs so they can get their own sodas when thirsty, and do without charge privilege for them. YOu can take them to the stores on board ship and charge on your KTTW card their purchases. Then you can take their Disney Dollars to Guest Services and have them applied to your account as a payment to cover what they buy.

As far as the wife having unlimited purchasing....That is a definite perk of being a grown up!! Indulge and live it up while on board ship, LOL!! :D

Relling Twin - LOL! My son did the same exact thing - and we were there in the arcade with him. Luckily, he only spent $5 or so when we discovered it. I then proceeded to guest services to discontinue charging priviledges for them. Guess they get that a lot. (He also manage to drop his KTTW card down the elevator shaft - but that's a whole 'nother story)

We, too, are survivors of the "charge wars!!" My DH and DS, 12, went to the arcade and got tickets together with DH's card. It never crossed their minds to discuss the cost of the cards - they were just having fun together and we had not authorized charging for DS.

Well, we may not have authorized charging but his KTTW card worked just fine the next time he went to the arcade by himself. And, he truly didn't think anything about it. Imagine our shock when we had racked up the arcade "National Debt!" One silver lining, it was only a 4 day cruise!! By the way, we (DH,DS and I) should have his bill paid by college - LOL!!
