Kids adjusting to time difference

Our DS will be 14 months when we travel next May and I'm kind of concerned as to how he'll handle the change in his sleep pattern. Does anyone have tips or advice they can give me on either how I can prepare him for the trip or how to manage when we get there? I know I'm a bit ahead of myself here butits really playing on my mind after my DH mentioned it yesterday and I have a feeling he wants to postpone until DS is bigger! :sad1: I hope not, I need my WDW fix and I can't wait to bring DS to experience the magic!!!
 
We went with our DD at 5months, 17months and 24months and she had no problem with the time difference.

We were on the 1pm flight toMCO and we kept her awake until just after lunch and then gave her a long nap on the flight ( about2-3hours). Then kept her awake until we arrived at the resort. Had some dinner and then put her down at about 8pm local time. She was a bit tired the next day but we just made sure she had a good nap each afternoon and she was fine.
 
At that age, my dd was fine... Now she's 7, last week I had four days of hell trying to get her to sleep when back in the uk. All that happened in the US was she woke up earlier, which was good considering the early starts :)

I agree. When we go to Hawaii, we gain about the same amount of time as you do coming to FL and it's a real help in getting up early! For the older kids, the longer day going out isn't a problem because everyone is in a good mood and excited. I feel like we get "free" time.

It's coming back that's the problem, but then at least we're home.
 

Thanks guys :) I think the flight that we are looking at getting is the 6.30am from Dublin to Gatwick with a 2 hour layover and an arrival time in Orlando of 3.30pm local time or there abouts. Would you guys reckon I should let him sleep as normal the night before the flight, let him nap on the flight and put him down for an early night once we get there (like 8pm ish)? I'm optimistic that he will be a later riser than he is right now as at the minute he sleeps from 7.30 to 6.15 like clockwork!
