Does anyone have any opinions on which Grand Floridian kids' activities are the best? I'd like to have my 7 year old daughter participate in one, but how to choose? I think she'd like all three: the Tea Party, the Cooking adventure, and the pirate hunt. Does anyone have any experience with them?

Hi, syzslak!

I'm going to move you over to the Resorts board for some answers! :)

My DDs went to the Tea Party a little over a yr ago when they were 6.5 and almost 5 yrs old. They LOVED it so much that they are going again in March. (They will be almost 8 and 6.) They decorated cupcakes, ate pb and jelly sandwiches and played games with the Mad Hatter and Alice. They also made paper flower bouquets.

The other 2 GF activities sound fun but there are no characters. I gave my kids the choice and they wanted to go back to the Tea Party because of Alice and the Mad Hatter. Be sure to send a camera (disposable, maybe) because the CMs will help them take pictures. Also send her autograph book to get Alice's and the Mad Hatter's autograph.

Your DD will have loads of fun.

I'm going to be of no help. :)

My 4 1/2 year old DD did the Adventures in Cooking and the Pirate Cruise in November. She loved them both. When I saw your post, I asked her which she would do if she could only choose one. She thought a long time and said, "I'd have to do both. I can't choose."

DD didn't have any interest in the Tea Party. She's terrified of the Mad Hatter.

DD did both the Pirate Cruise and the Wonderland Tea Party, and enjoyed both. The Pirate Cruise lasts 2 hours, compared with the Wonderland Tea Party, so if you are looking for a little adult time, that may help you choose.

It really depends on what your dd likes!

My DD(9) and DS(5) did the Pirate Cruise and the Cooking class in December. They LOVED the Pirate Cruise!! My daughter got to help with the map since she was one of the older kids on the cruise.
They enjoyed the cooking class, but it wasn't what we expected. We thought they would be more involved in the cooking process, but it was very simplified. They actually had more fun and were more involved in the preparation doing the cookie baking in the Land.
We asked them if they'd like to do them again and they didn't want to do the cooking one again. They are big fans of food tv so I think they were hoping to cook something pretty impressive.:) :)

My daughter does all three each & every WDW vacation. Here are some of my photos of all three of the events: click here to view them.

I wish I could attend them, but I am told that I am too old, *sigh.*

Well, you guys responded, but I'm not sure it helped. You weren't supposed to make them all sound good.

Seriously, thank you. And the pictures were very helpful. I've booked the pirate cruise and as we get closer I'll probably book her for the Tea Party as well.

Thank you all.

I booked both Tea Party and Pirate Cruise Dec of 2001. The Pirate cruise got canceled due to weather condition. My then 6 year old loved the tea party. I tried booking it again last Nov and I could not get any reservation.
