And he's funny too!

No, actually I grew up here in Fairfield. My mom has just always been a fly by the seat of her pants kind of woman.

This is Robert Irvine.

Thanks for the link. I recognize him now! :thumbsup2

Did you visit often as a child?

He isn't bad on the eyes. I love Gordon Ramsey especially on the F Word. *swoon*

:thumbsup2

and he can be a real hard a**!

:rotfl:

That's one of the things I like about him.

:lmao:

You ladies are cracking me up! I wonder if Buddy is a jerk in real life? I can't quite figure him out.

pirate: 115 days until WDW!!! pirate:

So Gab and Joshua leave for camp on the 25th for two weeks. We decided to allow Chloe to see her bestie for a week so we're flying her to AZ from June 30- July 7. We'll have no kids at home for a week. :faint: That hasn't happened in 3 years. Wonder how I'll survive? :hyper:

Once I started going in 1968 we would go every couple of years. It was better once I became an adult and my mom and I would take off for a weekend while my dad worked.

That's nice. :goodvibes So we started going around the same time. My first visit was 1969.

I was the flower girl in my aunt and uncles wedding so she took us. We also went to Knott's Berry Farm but it wasn't the same. It was Disneyland all the way for me.

I grew up about 15 minutes from Disneyland and would go weekly with my father during my childhood. I really liked Knott's too but never as much at Disneyand but it was still cool in its own way. In high school, we'd go to a dance club at Knott's called Cloud 9. In my late teens I didn't visit Disneyland too much. I was very into the beach and boys. :hippie:

A few trips ago we had Mrs. Knott's fried chicken. :cloud9: And the boysenberry punch! So delicious. The only things Knott's does better than Disney is funnel cake. To this day, I've never had a funnel cake better than I've had at KBF.

To me Disneyland was a world like no other. Knott's was fun but I was scared to death on the stage coach ride. I always used to watch old westerns and here we were on the stage coach and cowboys stop the stage coach and want a hostage. My dad "volunteered", in my little brain this was very real. It kind of ruined the place for me.:rotfl: No one thought to let me know that it wasn't real I was hysterical.

I continued my love affair with Disney even as a teenager. Of course maybe it was because we were further away than you were.

And the day I call is August 14th, right? Yikes- 4 am! But it will be so worth it! How much is a ticket to that, do you know? Is Josh too young to enjoy his cooking demo? He is addicted to Cake Boss so I'm guessing no.

Do they add other guest chefs? I don't know who Robert Irvine is. I'm sure Michael may.

Well first off, you have to wait until they release the schedule. I'm pretty sure by this time last year they already had released it. Buddy will only be there for probably one session of Sweet Sundays. You are staying two Sundays so you might have a chance of catching him, but that would totally change your Sunday plans for the first day if that is when his session is.

Once they release the schedule you check it to see if anyone you want to see is there while YOU are at WDW. Most of the people I wanted to see were there last year at times when I wasn't going to be there, but since I had to cancel, it doesn't matter.

If you guys are on the same time as CA, yes 4AM. Last year I think it was $70-80pp for Sweet Sundays. Basically you get a small buffet. When we did it in CA they had sausage, potatoes, muffins, croissants, fruit, and some other stuff. You ate from the buffet and drank bubbly alcoholic beverages. Then once most people had eaten, the "star" came out and demoed three desserts, so by the time you were done, you were rolling out of there stuffed to the gills.

He me do a deminar, which would only be $8-12, but I doubt it. Ask on the F&w thread, they would know and especially if it's age appropriate.

Thanks for the link. I recognize him now! :thumbsup2

I didn't go until 1973. :sad2:

Gordon Ramsey is awesome! I loved his show Kitchen nightmares. I want to go to his restaurant in LA!

I don't even know who Buddy is, except people on the DIS have talked about him.

Oh, BTW, I just found out today that right next to Legends they are opening up another California Shabu Shabu, it's my most favorititest restaurant. Since you worked at Legends, you're the only person who knows the area and I can tell and get excited. When Fran read that article to me in the Grunion Gazette, I had a kiniption fit! :lmao:

:rotfl2: Scarred by the stagecoach! I loved the log ride and Montezuma's Revenge. :thumbsup2 And again, the funnel cake. I have yet to have a better one and believe me, I've tried from State Fairs to QVC to Disneyland.

We had a bad visit to Disneyland in 1995 when the place was under poor management. :sad1: The CMs were rude and the place was dirty. We returned after Gabby was born and it was once again magic. DH had never been a big fan, more of a Six Flags kinda guy but I've broken him.

Thanks Alison! I asked on the F&W thread :thanks: Sometimes I feel like my questions get lost in those mega threads so I hope it gets answered.

The Grunion! Gosh I miss my LBC!!!! I'm hoping for a late summer trip or early Fall.

Did you grow up in So Cal?

We went in 1992 for our honeymoon, but then didn't go again until 2002. We were too busy with the kids being little. We went back in 2002 and the longest stretch since then was when I was so sick and we didn't go from March of 2007 until June of 2010. Now I refuse to not go at least once a year. Although I did agree to look into going someplace else next year. But now that Scotty is addicted I don't know we may not being going anywhere else. Darn!:lmao:

I didn't see that post. :scratchin Hopefully someone will answer it.

If you come we should get together.

We moved from Boston when I was 5. We lived in a sleepy little Nor Cal town, until a couple tinkerers named Wozniak and Jobs launched a new business from their garage a couple blocks from my JHS and HS. After that it was a booming town. I moved to So Cal to go to CSUN and have been here ever since.

:goodvibes How neat you went for your honeymoon. :thumbsup2 What a fun idea. I like your once a year idea. I like twice a year better but I'd settle for once a year. I'm dying to see Carsland. :hyper: I was looking at Alison's pics late last night and it looks so well done, they didn't skip a beat.

M always tries to talk us into going someplace else. One of these days we'll make it to the Redwoods, which is where he wants to go badly, or as I like to call it The Big Tree Tour.

I posted after you suggested, no worries. :goodvibes I'll just have to keep checking back and reposting when it gets lost.

BeanTown! I've always wanted to visit Boston, I hear it's one of the best big cities.

I went to CSULB, go Niners! :woohoo: I miss that area so badly. I'll let you know if I come out, I'd love to get together. Is the N for Northridge?

Hope everyone is having a nice Saturday! :goodvibes

We're going to see Brave tonight. It's the last night we'll all be together for just over two weeks as a family.

:goofy: 112 days until WDW!!! :goofy:

Bawled. Like. A. Baby. How was Rock of Ages? Brett Michaels said the lead character is a mix of himself and Axl Rose. What a fabulous train wreck. :thumbsup2

Brave was really good. I know the reviews were mixed but it felt a little old school Disney to me. Lots of fighting like in Sleeping Beauty. I cried. They made fun. Par for the course. :crazy2:
