Jambo won but Jambo is full so Kidani it is. Can't make the change until 10/19I'll let you know how it goes, keep me posted on yours as well.
I just really wan to avoid any wait list.Been searching lots between the THV and Kidani on which requests to make. I feel sad letting so many THV nights go.......

Yep, crunch time. I think we are going to do 2 wait lists for BWV, and probably for pool view as we think our chances may be better. One for all 6 nights and then one for the last 3. Which would mean two calls.
Jambo is sold out? Wow! You could always book Kidani and then waitlist that for Jambo and then you are cool either way. What is interesting to me about the requests is they seem to just get part of what I requested into the system but not quite all of it. For example for Vero I requested 3rd floor, and then either building 12 or 15. (there is one other building). All they got in there was 3rd floor and K's birthday. Not sure if I should try to modify that or just wait and try adding it at online check-in. I think you can make room requests then as well.
It's not all booked but it's booked enough to get on my nerves.I'm not good at waiting.
I'd rather have it set. I did see a lot of BWV open which shocked me so now I'm playing with that. I've really got my heart set on AKV as do the kids and DH though. Jambo and Kidani have equal perks. It's silly and hard at the same time.
I would modify your Vero request as specific as you can. Can't hurt really? They may think, well we can do 2 out of 3 and you'll be happy either way.
So what does your October DVC look like as of this minute?
BWV 2 bedrooms? I think there may be better availability for the 1B's although I've not looked. We are doing a studio. If your heart says AKV, then go there! It's not silly at all. I feel like I spend a ridiculous amount of time thinking about 2013!
Yeah, I just find it odd that part of it made it in there and not the other. Happened elsewhere as well. Makes me wonder if there is a character limit of some sort. The thing is, in both cases, what made it "in", is the higher priorty so if I could only have one request, that would be it.
Right now we are 10/17-23 at VWL. Realistically speaking VWL works a bit better for the first 3 nights anyway since we are probably doing MNSSHP and the haunted carriage ride at FW 18th/19th I think...or something like that.
Jenny!
Just checked DVC and AKV CL 2 bedroom is open 10/20, 10/21, 10/23, and 10/24. I hope your days stay open and more open up!!!
Holy Mac! Thanks for looking. I could end the trip with CL for 2 nights if it stays open.I'm calling the 19th to see what happens.
Ideally the 22nd will open and I'll do THV 5/ AKV 3/ and AKV CL 3. I think CL will come in handy towards the end when we're out of snacks.
How's your planning?![]()
I hope it stays open for you!
My planning is moving slowly for WDW. I don't want to change our BCV 3/ AKV 3/ BLT 7 split. Our airfare is booked. I'm booking a rental car this weekend, but I always rebook that as the rates come down. I've been researching D.C. hotels for the night before our flight. I'm torn between the Hyatt Regency, Marriott, and Ritz Carlton. The Ritz is about $69 more for each room (we're getting 2 rooms). I'm trying to decide if it will be worth the extra money. I love the Hyatt Regency and Marriott hotels as well. Ideally, I want spacious rooms, comfy beds, a nice bathroom, and a place to get breakfast in the morning before we head to the airport. That place to get breakfast can be room service. So, I need to check menus.
I'm on the fence about a DLR Christmas week trip. I am making a decision by Monday. It's another big family trip. My mother insists we stay at the Grand Californian. But, the rooms at the Disneyland Hotel look so nice and are larger. I'm also concerned about the crowds. I'm sure it's doable with the right planning. I really want to enjoy the trip and not be overwhelmed by the crowds. I've tossed around the idea of a WDW Christmas, but that just seems worse. At least at DLR we can WALK from the GCH to both parks. Notice Paradise Pier hasn't been mentioned.![]()
Me too!
You really have quite a bit to decide. I'd go with the most comfy room the night before flying. I find if I'm at all unrelated at the beginning of a trip, I never really recoup. I say go for the Ritz. You'll get the best rest and really what another $69 x 2 at this point.

You won't use DVC at Disneyland? If you aren't using DVC then the DLH is a viable option. But really, the GCH cannot be beat. It's literally steps from DCA. It's so gorgeous during the holidays. We enjoyed the DLH too so I'm sure you'll enjoy both. But I'd go for points at the GCV first. If you book right at 7 months you might have a decent chance. How many of you?
And I vote an astounding no to the PPH.![]()
You and I have the same reasoning about the Ritz.
I'm not using DVC for Disneyland. We're borrowing points for this summer's trip and want to make sure other points are there for next summer. Plus, the point per night for Christmas week are ridiculous. I love the look of the new DLH rooms, but the location of GCH is a huge draw. It looks like there will be 8 of us. So, more than one room obviously.
I don't know girl, that's a tough call. Would it be cheaper to rent rooms or maybe rent points from that David dude, he's got an ad around here somewhere? Yes, you'd need 2 rooms for sure at the DLH. It really is beautiful and super magical. Once it gets closer, we'll get you hooked up on what tower to request. No parking lot views for you my friend.
If the 2 CL dates stay open I need to decide if I want to end the trip CL or start the AKV portion CL?![]()
I checked David's site. It's more than just booking directly through Disney. I think I'm just going to book the Grand Californian. I want a special Christmas trip and love the location. I've been researching and the photos of the GCH are just spectacular. Yes, I love the rooms at DLH, but GCH just seems like an experience all by itself.
How does dining reservations work at DLR?
If the dates stay open, I would definitely end with CL. You can use the lounge for breakfast, snacks, and drinks all day. You'll end your fab vacation with a little luxury.
Just checked and these dates are still open: 10/20, 10/21, 10/23, and 10/24.
I think you'll love the GCH. I really do.PS are Disneyland's version of an ADR and can be made 60 days out. Mind you, there aren't the quarter of the dining options but great nonetheless. I think the number is 714-781-DINE. Allears net.com has the DL menus spelled out just like the ones for WDW. There are so many fun treats too. The candy shop on Main St is heavenly. And Bengal BBQ across from Indy is a must do.
I love Disneyland.
And I swear Disneyland's popcorn taste better......I don't know how but it does.
Thanks for checking those dates. I'm looking at the 23 and 24, I have a few more days to wait.I'm tempted to snag the 20/21 but really don't want 6 nights at the THV and really want to end with CL but would hate to miss out on CL because I was too picky.
What should I do???

Thanks for the DLR info! I'm thinking of starting a WDW/DLR ptr. Let's see how far I get with that.
I would snag 10/20 & 21. Then, if you want to end with CL, switch later in the week to the 23rd and 24th. What are your THV dates?
Here's my issue with doing that which I've contemplated. I'm going to have to borrow to get the CL nights so if by chance the 23/24 fill up, I'm screwed and will lose some points if I don't keep the CL on 20/21.I really really really want to end with CL.
I need like major pixiedust!
You should start one, I'd so follow it.Plus you can add in your October plans.
