Jennifer, I have had a couple of friends that have gone to Universal to see the Harry Potter stuff and they loved it. One friend so much that they are going back for a third trip.
I'm excited about planning the party. Deciding on a dessert menu is not exactly hard work.
I'm not so into Universal. My brother just wants to go to Islands of Adventure to see Harry Potter. I'm trying to convince my brother that it's not worth it. Actually, a couple of friends went last summer and were not impressed at all.
Post a picture of your trip planning binder! I need to start one. I have tons of info to print out, but I haven't done it yet. LOL I'm the same way with the binder. I never take it out! Actually, I never bring it on the plane. I pull out what's important and put it in one of those 8 pocket folders.
I don't find Disney prices on food and drinks that bad anymore either. In NYC, the food and drinks are expensive all the time. I think I'm just used to it.
My friends that went are huge fans of Disney and both are members of Disboards if that gives you an idea.
By the way Jenny I sent you a message on facebook check it out.
I do think it's possible to love Universal AND Disney. It's like apples and oranges. Not remotely the same. That said, to me 2-3 days is perfect over there...and a week (or more) at Disney so that does put it in perspective. If you are into HP it's a must and if you are a thrill ride junkie, I'd say it's a must as well. If no to both then probably not worth it.
Wow!! Look at how young your kids look.![]()
I know. And look how straight Chloe's hair is too. Crazy!
I never get sick and woke up about 4 am with flu-like symptoms. I canceled dinner with our friends and it looks like we'll have a mellow evening in.
How are you ringing in the New Year?
Oh man. Sorry to hear you are sick.
We usually have a quiet night at home with the kids. We have a little party iwth them. It is a tradition with our family.
Despite Disney's lamest promo to date,
We're going to WDW this year!!!!
Happy New Year.
I am feeling loads better. I think it might have been a small bout with food poisoning. Today we are going to take down the tree and decor, watch some football, and eat Indian food.![]()
I was hoping it was falling for my days but no such luck.
Woohoo!!
Indian food sounds so wonderful!! We are having chicken, corn casserole and black eyed peas for dinner.
Is that a traditional NYD meal for your family?
The black eyed peas are. They are supposed to bring prosperity.
My grandmother used to make roast pork, cabbage, and black eyed peas. Old Hungarian good luck traditional NYD meal.looks like Tikka Masala will be our good luck meal.
With garlic naan.

I can so live without the cabbage. I would love the Tikka Masala. Yum!!
I love cabbage but it doesn't love me.
All the decorations are down, dusted, and vacuumed. Bedding is being washed, boys are watching the Raiders game. Chloe is watching a movie on my Ipad. Poor thing had a seizure earlier today. I knew she was going to. She's been eating junk since Christmas and staying up way too late. She's on bed rest per mama bear now.
Gabby is watching tv in the loft. I was cleaning my end table next to the bed and found old WDW park maps. I put them as the cover of my nifty binder.![]()

Our tree was down the day after Christmas because of the puppy. I was sad that it all came down so soon.
I have the Raiders game on I have to support our local team. This is going to a high scoring game.
Poor Chloe.
I wish they did the maps for Disneyland like they do for WDW.
