I am really leaning towards a 1 br at SSR for the first 5 nights and then THV for the second five nights. I would love to do a 2 br at SSR but with Chloe wanting to go to Disneyland and stay at the GCV for her bat mitzvah in 2012- I need to be aware with regards to points allocation.

When would you stay at the THV? The first night?

Agreed.

You have got to try The Ditch in Mexico. I don't know the real name but Podsnel has a great write up in her trippie.

SSR and THV sounds like a great split!

I'm considering switching over some of our nights to THV.

Ohhh putting The Ditch on my "must drink" list.

I just love everything about THV, they are so Walt to me. Plus, like all DVC, they have their uniqueness. Your trip is before mine so you'll have to let me know how you liked them. With only 5 of us, we'll have tons of room but it's better than being cramped together. With the SSR/THV split we get all what we want except Gabby who wants to go back to AKV.

The Ditch makes all kinds of fresh margaritas and they don't use that sugary mix. :thumbsup2

I love the space THV has to offer, but I'm not sure how I'd feel about the remote location. Do you usually rent a car?

Hmmm I may find myself hanging out in The Ditch one night next month. Thank goodness for the IG back to the Yacht Club :rotfl:

We haven't rented a car before. I know there is parking for one, maybe 2 cars though. I like not having to drive to be honest. From what I have read, there really doesn't seem to be any bus issues at the THV but I could have missed it.

:rotfl: Take pics! :flower3:

Having said that, I would love to take a trip with DH and I to really explore WS without having to make masks and then we could drink around the world. :thumbsup2

I can't wait for that! I'd love to do a F&W trip adult only but really, anytime, adult only is good! DH and I had a "date" at the WS this trip, it was wonderful.

La Cava del Tequila.

It's funny, people are calling it the Ditch and I was like...where is The Ditch? OHHHH you mean La Cava.

Why is it called the Ditch? I've been there so I'm not sure I get the nickname.

The classica is quite tasty!

I'm thinking THV for 2012 for us. BUT after having stayed at an Epcot resort, that would be hard to give up too so...who knows.

I would LOVE to do the F&W one year. Chloe wants to go to Disney in 2012 for her bat mitzvah so maybe instead of Disneyland, we'll do WDW....

I am thinking they call it The Ditch because if you drink too many you end up in a ditch. A better name might be The Pantyless because that's usually my fate after too many. :lmao:

The translation is Tequila's Cellar so maybe they are likening ditch to cellar?

That would be difficult. I hear the proximity cannot be beat! :cool1: When in 2012?

That would be great- thank you!

Let's figure out how to make that happen - I think first is figuring out what software you want to use. Probably Photoshop Elements, but I will leave that up to you. Next, I can send you a couple of kits and instructions for it. And then I can show you where the Disney stuff lives! :)

I cannot believe it's been 3 years. I haven't even put the Dream certificates away yet. They sit in my nightstand drawer.

I can understand why they remain there!!!

June...maybe...for peepfest. We will see, my family keeps tossing out other dates and I would love to do another sibling trip so....I don't know. We're at that odd stage where some of us are ok with pulling kids out of school for an off season trip, others (sadly, myself) are not. So finding a date that works is hard.

Why we need to do DVC, so we can have the flexibility. LOL! Epcot resorts are amazing! Granted I've only stayed at one and am worried the others won't live up to it but...the location is just unbeatable.

That would be great. I told DH I need like 2 hours this Saturday to investigate so I will really check out Photoshop Elements. I have poked around some and I am so excited. I really appreciate the help. :goodvibes

Last night I went through my nightstand and created a box of Disney memories. The certificates went in. I cannot believe the stuff I keep; does anyone else keep park hoppers, maps, pins, etc?

 ;)

Peepfest sounds like a blast! If you decide on October by chance, we'll have to meet up.

My friend Jenna hates to pull her kids too. I am on the other end of the spectrum. As long as their grades are good and they are understand their school work, I have no issues pulling them. :goodvibes Soccer is a bigger stressor than school. ;)

Why did I think you owned DVC?

Another photo from 2007. This was our last morning and as Day 10, I couldn't get anyone to rope drop with me except Gabby. Boy was she glad she did. We had the park to ourselves and got to be the Splash Family of the day. I will dig out that photo to share.

I look like hell Cynthia, you should be stoked.

:welcome: Pam, great to have you. This is the place to be as far as December info goes. I will keep updated on all things holiday! Have you thought about dates and where you want to stay?

Soccer is, no doubt, just as stressful. We pulled them in 08 and both teens bombed a math test upon return. It wasn't worth the stress and dealing with their mom. You wouldn't have that dynamic of course but the reality is, once they hit jr high and HS you may not know at all what's really due when or when they have a test. We reached out for all their teachers and heard from maybe...2. Between the 2 of them.

So, based on that, once we hit middle school, I'm not really willing to put myself through that, even if it was just the E's. Elementary? Sure. But not middle school or later. It's not that I don't trust my kids but....I don't trust my kids.

Even our "good" student totally understated what she should be working on while we were gone. Hence the test results.

:headache: Gab's in Jr High and I totally agree about the lack of communication! I am guessing HS will be worse.

Gab missed two separate weeks last year for vacation  and did great. Chloe however is for sure my outside-of-the-box thinker and has issues now with the way she's taught. I am guessing that pulling her in Jr High will cause problems. :sad1:

There are tons more phatty photos where those came from. :flower3:

I realize I am basically talking to myself today but I need this on paper. We have added a couple Disney trips over the next couple of years to our planning....:woohoo:

  • Disneyland, 2 days, November 2010, staying with BFF
  • WDW, 11 days, December 2011, SSR/THV
  • Disneyland, 5 days, October 2012, GCV

::yes:: The October 2012 trip might turn into a WDW trip and I need to decide before we buy our hoppers next December. Chloe is choosing to go to Disney for her bat mitzvah after-services celebration. I am going to try sell WDW to DH by focusing on the F&W Festival. He is a total foodie. By October 2012 Gabby will be almost 16, plenty old enough to watch Chloe and Joshua so we can have an adults only night in Epcot during the F&W Festival. Heck, they can tool around FW and meet us later also. Chloe really wants to go to MNSSHP and Disneyland is so much cheaper to get to than WDW from Utah. Like over $1,000 cheaper.

I love that my girls are not wanting huge parties. I would much rather spend the money on vacations. ;) Gabby has chosen to go to So Cal next May for 6days but no Disney she says. She says she wants more of a *cool* shopping trip. :snooty: So far I have planned 2 days and 1 night in Catalina Island, a day at Fashion Place, a day at Newport Beach with dinner at The Crab Cooker, and the final day will be spilt between Huntington Beach, Seal Beach, and Belmont Shore. We'll fly from SLC to LGB (Long Beach Municipal) and stay with my BFF.

Joshua says he is going surfing with DH in Costa Rica for his.

 Sorry that was more than you asked for.

Silly girl you know I am here. I may not comment everyday but I am usually here.
:cool1: For the added trips.
