Is there a pretty big area for small kids to ride and play at SW? I know they will enjoy the shows and animals but I don't want them to get bored. They need a good playground type area or small rides to stay entertained. Did your young kids (6 and under) enjoy SW?

SW has a rather large area for kids. They have several rides, including the Shamu coaster, sand pits, a huge net climbing area and water play area. They also have a small snack stand and baby care center all in the same area.

our girls were 4 at the time and they loved it..must see the polar bear exhibit..this was a favorite...they will not be bored...dare i say i liked it more than Mk??:scared1:

Lat time we went my girls were 3 and 7 and they loved it. Shamu's happy harbour was really fun for them. Bring their swimsuits if it is warm. They will not be bored. Only thing I would suggest is too bring something to do/eat while waiting for the shows to begin. You really need to get there at least 15 min. early.

We have been going to SW since before my girls even had to pay to get in and now they are 7. The younger ones have tons to do in Happy Harbour. One HUGE suggestion would be to take in waters and snacks (fruit snacks, goldfish, etc.) You can obviously buy stuff there but we generally take waters w/ packages to add to them and then just ask for a cup of ice. We have the refillables and they are only a dollar to refill for passholders. Apples work. If you have a stroller, you can 'tote' more...which was nice when they were younger, lol.

We love it there.

Our 2 year old was bored with it. He wasn't able to do but 1 to 2 rides and play in the sand box. The play area w/ nets were too big for him. The water area kept his interest for a little bit but not for a long time. Older kids would like it better, but as far as being better than MK, sorry I didn't think so.

Yeah, each child is different. Like I said, my girls have been going to SW since before we even paid for them to get in. We took a year off to take them to the Disney parks...when they expired they said they wanted to go back to SW. They are now seven and they miss Thunder Mountain at DW and "Ice Mountain" at AK...but they chose SW because we are an aquatic family, period. I imagine our next passes will be to the Universal parks when they get tall enough to ride, lol! But until then we are at SW for two years...and Aquatica.

Cheers and have fun wherever you go! Orlando is awesome.
