I posted this over in the resorts thread but didn't think to post here... this is a combination of my other posts:
I went on a tour of KV on Tuesday and spent 8 hours there today... it is beautiful!!! It has the largest collection of African art in the country, and all of it is designed to be touched (but not picked up)! It's all over the resort and like the Lodge the view of the animals is incredible.
I'm not DVC... but I can't wait til May 1 to explore the property anyway. To those out there that already have the rooms - they are incredible. I saw the model room and it's definately better than the apartment I live in.
I hope you all love it as much as I do!
Asante Sana!
(Question about pictures and the pool) No cameras were allowed because the resort is not opened yet and still considered backstage... but when it opens next month I'll try to grab some.
The pool is incredible!
(Question about viewing animals, food and merchandise) Oh yeah... all kinds. They have special community balconies (they're still adding the rocking chairs so we weren't allowed to go out on them) and there is a walk out area where the animals can come in within maybe 10 feet... that was amazing.
I'm trying to remember counter service, but I can't, that doesn't mean there isn't one however. We did get to test a lamb meatball in the table service restaurant - it's African based with Indian flavors.
There is a merchandise shop right when you walk in, across from the front desk area.
I can't imagine the pool will open before the resort, but it looks on target for May 1!
