Here's an update on the Kidani Village construction project.

Current Status: Half of the resort is undergoing a major refurbishment, specifically the section to the right of the lobby and closest to Jambo House. The section is closed just passed the laundry room. The arcade and community hall are open.

Materials are currently staged in the garage beneath this area, and the covered parking underneath this section is closed. This part of the resort will be completed and opened in phases. The focus is on the section nearest to the lobby first. The 4th and 5th floors of this section are nearing completion, but it is unclear whether they will open separately or wait until all floors are finished. The remaining half of this section will follow afterward.

Renovations: This update will include new paint, fixtures, appliances, and furniture. For flooring, the studios and one-bedroom units will feature Luxury Vinyl Plank (LVP) throughout. In dedicated two bedrooms, LVP will only be installed in the living areas of the two-bedroom units and carpet in the bedrooms. I did not inquire about the Grand Villas, but they will likely have a combination of LVP and carpet as well.

I did not ask about the updates regarding the Murphy beds, but this feature has been included in all previous major refurbishments.

All of the exterior windows are currently covered with dark plastic, preventing visibility into the construction areas.

I took a few photos but the consturction site is restricted so I could’t get close.

Any chance your copy of the picture of the mattresses is clear enough to make out the writing on the stickers?

Yes.

Bremen Twin 6”

I got this from ai:
A Bremen twin bed is a specific type of bed frame or mattress from a brand called "Bremen." The "twin" size refers to a standard twin size, which is typically
38 inches wide and 75 inches long. However, some manufacturers may use different dimensions, so it's best to check the product details for the exact measurements.

Those are replacements for the existing little pull down beds then. Thanks.
The only single bed size sleeping surface in both Jambo & Kidani have been the sleeper chairs & their mattresses are built into the chair & the mattress folds/unfolds.
Sounds like they may be replacing the sleeper chairs w/ those under the TV pull down singles - it’ll be interesting to see how tight it will be between the TV cabinet single bed & the Murphy sofa bed when both are pulled down.
I hope they at least give us some kind of upholstered chair in addition to the inevitable Murphy sofa.

A pull-down below the TV taking the place of the dresser will be a huge disappointment for me. So many DVC studios have basically zero drawer space.

Same, I think i saw a leaked picture that showed their putting the drawer space under the bed, which i strongly dislike 😔

It will be a double disappointment if they take out all the unique fittings and furniture of these rooms and replace it with catalog-quality MDF stuff like you'd see in a Fairfield with a vinyl laminate to make it "look" like some exotic african hardwood.

I was hesitating staying at Jambo before the refurb, now I CANT WAIT to stay and experience it before. Then I can really get a comparison of how I feel about these refurbs 🤣

I don't feel like the current rooms are really in bad shape, tbh. The only thing that is really showing wear is the carpet in my opinion. Nothing like HHI before its refurb - those rooms were fairly rough IMO.

Because we're staying in a one bedroom, there's nothing stopping me! We got the king bed and were good to go! Do the one bedrooms have the jacuzzi tubs? I was looking at pictures of the furniture online and i love the wood carvings and authenticity 🦓🦒🦁

They have jacuzzi tubs as of right now but sadly DVC has been removing them from refurbishments so it's likely their days are numbered. Too expensive to maintain and keep clean I guess.
