Kidani Village - room layout - HELP!

Please help! I have booked a standard view grand villa (3 bedroom) at Kidani Village and a standard view studio. We are traveling with extended family and are hoping to have the two units as close together as possible. I am not familiar with the Kidani layout - will I be able to request that the studio and grand villa be in the same building - or will they be far apart due to how the village was built? What standard view would you request or which building? I would love to find a building with a studio and 3 bedroom that is close to the pool and has a nice view (I realize I'm asking alot!) I am renting my DVC points from a member - do you know if I can check-in online prior to my arrival - or must you be the member?

There are only 2 standard view GV at AKV- as you mentioned they are in Kindani. You will be at the far north end of the building in the area where the animals are gated- due to complaints about the savanah view they were changed over to standard (or possibly originally started out this way. You will not have a choice of a different view for the GV. I would ask the member to request the other room nearby but I don't know if there are any standard view rooms nearby- they may have to be down a ways near either the pool or the parking lots.

I'm not sure where the grand villas are located, but maybe this will help.

Not sure how many in your party, but if you have at least 8 I believe you can let MS know it is a grand gathering and they usually place the rooms as close as possible.

I have not yet done this myself, but I read (on DIS) of others doing this.
