Any way to get from one to another without a car and without taking a bus to a park and then another bus to the other resort?
You should ask the bus driver to verify. There are times when the AKL/AKV buses don't stop at both buildings. You can also grab any bus at Kidani. They stop at Jambo before heading out. Not the Disney Springs bus though. It goes to Jambo first.
Walk. It's about a five to seven minute walk between the two buildings. There is also a shuttle that runs between the two campuses. You can also grab any bus at Kidani. They stop at Jambo before heading out. Not the Disney Springs bus though. It goes to Jambo first.
I second walking. There's a path between the two which makes it easy.
I'd say the walk is more like 10 min.s & after walking miles around Disney parks & standing in Disney lines some folks want to hoard their energy. It amazes me how able bodied people are so adverse to walking for 5 minutes. Here in UK they would not have a 'shuttle' for a 5 minute walk.
I have hiked up mountains and walked 13 miles through the Arizona desert with a backpack on but in July on a 105 degree day I take the shuttle because the walk from Jambo to Kidani is entirely in the sun and I don't feel like showing up for my dinner reservation at Sanaa dripping in sweat. This year there was a terrible thunder storm and it was pouring buckets, again I took the shuttle. It has nothing to do with being lazy.It amazes me how able bodied people are so adverse to walking for 5 minutes. Here in UK they would not have a 'shuttle' for a 5 minute walk.
I was there last week. You could take the disney springs bus from Jambo to Kidani. There was a sign posted that said this. How long one feels the walk is varies among members. The actual distance from front door of Kidani to front door of Jambo is about 1/2 mile. If you are near the Zazu elevator, the last one on the south wing which is the wing closest to the front of Jambo, it is about 1/4 mile from there. If you are in the end rooms of the Kidani north wing, the walk is about 5/6 mile. In other words, how fast the walk is depends a lot on where your room is at Kidani. If, some time, you just feel like walking down the hallway from one end of the Kidani building to the other end, it is a little more than 2/3 mile, i.e., it is an extremely long building.
The shuttle (mini-bus) runs from the front door of one bulding to the front door of the other continuously day and evening. How long you have to wait for it simply depends on where it is in the route when you arrive to get it, but usually it is not long.
Mentioned above is that you can also take one of the park buses from Kidani to Jambo because they go that route to the park, and the Disney Springs bus from Jambo to Kidani because that bus stops first at Jambo when returning from DS. Whether that is correct now depends. Beginning last October, Disney actually started running a direct bus to MK and DS from each of the AKL buildings and thus cut off the possibility of using those buses between the resorts. Disney even established separate stations for the Jambo and Kidani buses at MK. However, it does not appear that change survived for very long because by early spring of this year, that separate station was apparently gone and sharing of the buses had started again but sometimes they do run separate buses from and to each building from MK and DS. Also, I have personally experienced a few times when the MK bus when returning to AKL actually stopped at Jambo first. Thus, if considering using the buses between Kidani and Jambo, you should ask before boarding whether it is actually going to the other building.
