For those of you who hve stayed so far, are there any areas that you think would be good to request??? Close to the lobby, pool etc.??? We are staying in a 2 bedroom in August and we have 3 young girls...Thanks so much...:lovestruc

If you're close to the lobby then you are close to the pool, the observation decks, the bus stops, Sanaa, and the small market place.

We spent 3 wonderful nights at Kidani the first weekend it was open. Hope you enjoy it as much as we did. As you face the front entrance, the pool is a little to the left and in back of you. The bus stop it a little to the right. The path to Jambo House is to the right, and it's about a 12 minute walk to the front door, at a very comfortable pace (you can also walk inside the corridor in Kidani and then go outside, which was great in the HOT weather). So, near the lobby would be very convenient.

Can't wait to read the comments about the l-o-n-g corridors at Kidani. :rolleyes1

Forgot to add that the water play area for kids by the pool looked like a LOT of fun.

We are also staying in a 2BDR SV this August (Kidani). Having no idea what to request, I just requested close to pool.

We are checking out today after a week in a 2 bedroom Savannah view, I would definitely request close to the lobby. We are the next to the last room on the wing, it is a looooooong walk to the lobby and pool (makes you think the Boardwalk hallways are short), but we have also noticed that, at least for now, there is much more animal activity close to the lobby, we mostly see a lone ostrich or two in front of our room. This may change as the animals get more accustomed to the area, but at least at this time there are a lot more animals by the lobby.

We had the absolute best location!!! The only thing that would have made it better was to be on the other side of the hallway with a savanna view.

We were in 7209 - studio. If you enter the lobby and then turn right, you go past an elevator and then the library on the left, then the community hall next to it with the arcade across the hall. Next is laundry on the right with a few CM only rooms. Then there were 4 guest rooms (two on either side) and then our room. If you keep going down the hall from 7209, two rooms or so later was the doorway to the path to the buses. A few more rooms down led to the elevator that went down to the parking lot. We LOVED our location! We also had our room ready when we checked in at 10:00 am, but I suspect that will not be the case as the resort gets more traffic.

We were able to head down to Johari Treasures in minutes to refill mugs. A short walk outside the lobby got us to the pool. I would absolutely request a 2nd floor room as close to the lobby as possible. The most amazing thing? It was quiet! As we would get closer to the lobby, the African music was so vibrant that it sounded like a live band in the lobby, yet we never heard it when we were in our room.

If your kids will be involved in Camp Kidani, being close to the community hall is even better.

I expected to like Kidani, but not to be as happy and impressed as I was. It is a breathtakingly beautiful resort full of details and much more laid back that Jambo House. I look forward to our next stay there!
