Hello,

I will be staying in a one bedroom villa with my brother and his family in a few weeks. I will be sleeping on either the couch or chair. Has anyone slept on both and if so, is there a difference between the 2? I have read that the couch is not great, but wondering if the chair is just as bad?

Thanks in advance.

Kristi

I've done both - probably prefer the couch since it's bigger and I can move to find a comfortable spot. The chair wasn't great, but wasn't terrible - probably better for slightly smaller folks. If you have the option of either, you'll want to try both before sleeping!

Looking forward to next year at this time when there's a reasonable chance the Kidani rooms will have replaced the sofa bed pullout with the Murphy Beds - they are so much better. Hadn't thought about it much, but wonder what happens to the sleeping chair during the Kidani refurb? Guess we'll see.

Exact opposite for me. The pull out isn’t just bad… it’s torture. Long day at the park, dead tired but couldn’t sleep… like being put on the rack.

I found the chair fairly comfortable… I am short, though, so I think that makes a difference.

Try both. YMMV.

Thanks for that perspective. I am only 5'2" so fairly short as well, so hopefully the chair will be ok for a few nights. I will definitely try both. I really wish they had the murphy bed. Those are so much better than a fold out. I am excited for the trip but anxious about not getting any sleep. Oh well, exhausted in Disney is better than exhausted at home!

I could see that, depending on the room and the shape the pullout is in. I did have one trip where I just slept on the sofa, the bed was so poor (and that room didn't have a chair)!! Murphy Beds all the way.

I read somewhere that you can request an egg crate mattress topper?!? Not sure if that's true or if it's an option at AKL?!? Anyone else heard of this??

We just stayed for 2 weeks in December in Jambo. My large teen sons (6ft) slept on the pull out couch and sister slept on the single. We requested foam toppers as soon as we arrived for both beds and they were all comfortable for the duration of the trip. The foam toppers are essential.

We did get one at CCV and it was not so great. It was pretty useless. Actually considered going to Target and buying one or good old Amazon Prime. I think it depends on how old the topper is.

This is good info. I will request a topper when we get there. I am hoping it helps or I am just too tired to notice.
