I'm wondering if we'd be able to use both of the resort pool areas if we choose to stay in Jambo? Anyone know?
Thanks!

As to whether the Kidani will be open to "all AKL" guests, that is still unlear. All of Jambo and all of Kidani (including pools) will be open to any DVC member staying at either. Question is whether AKL guests renting through Disney will be able to use Kidani pool. Some AKV purchasers reported being told by guides no and some yes. Note, even as a DVC member who is allowed to, you may discover that your desire to go from Jambo to the Kidani pool or from Kidani to the Jambo pool will wane quite quickly since the walk will be about 2/3 of a mile

The word I received from several DVC Cast Members was all DVC members; whether staying in Jambo or Kidani, was both pools would be accessible by DVC members staying at AKV on points. General AKL guests would not be allowed to use the Kidani pool.

I'm sure Kidani will have cash guests. It's unclear if those cash guests will get to hop between the two pools. What will also be interesting is how DVC will enforce the pool policy. There could be some Non-DVC AKL guests who hop over to Kidani to try it out.

This is my understanding as well. It is a one-way street. Kidani guests can use Uzima, but AKL guests cannot come over to Kidani pool. Let's see if it gets enforced. :confused3

Does anyone understand why Disney - who doesn't do a great job at policing rules like this now - would want to be so exclusionary? Is the Kidani pool area going to be really small?

I don't know, but it sounds silly and confusing to me. If you stay at the Beach Club Hotel, you can still use the quiet pool at the villas ... same for WL. I just don't see this type of rule every being enforced within a resort ... b/c, like you said, Disney doesn't even do a good job of enforcing the current rules.

First, we don't know what the actual rule will be for AKL guests -- people have reported different things, some being told only DVC members and guests, others that Kidani pool can be used by all including AKL guests.

Second, and they have done things like this before, I can see them just having a ban on AKL guests for a while after it opens to avoid overcrowding from large numbers of people just wanting to use something new. They won't do much to enforce just let it be known (and most will just follow the rule). Then after a while, as the concept of novelty wears off and the pool forms its own usual crowd pattern, just quietly drop the ban.

The regular busses will be making two stops one at AKL/Jambo and one at Kidani. You should be able to use those, although they will need to have varying orders so some stop at AKL/Jambo first and some at Kidani first when doing their rounds (otherwise, you would have them all going in the same direction, e.g., from Jambo to Kidani to park, and thus never have a bus to make the return trip on without heading for a park first). There have been mentioned hopes for a tram bewtween the two but Disney has never mentioned one. The estimated walking distance from front door of Jambo to front door of Kidani is 1/2 mile (and you have to go quite a bit further if coming from Jambo to finally get to the Kidani pool).

I think the distance will keep most away. We just got back and I drove from Jambo over to Kidani, at least as close as I could and there is no way I would trek over there just to see a different pool. Now once they get it done, I may change my mind. But that will be a good little walk.
