Kidani or Jambo 2 Bedroom?

Is there any advantage in Kidani over Jambo? Are the rooms the same size? Have stayed in Jambo but never Kidani.

I have only stayed at Jambo, but, I know that we had 2 bathrooms in a 1 bedroom. All the info I see says that's incorrect? Do ALL Jambo 2 bedrooms only have 2 baths?

The Kidani Village 2-bedrooms will be at least 100 sq feet larger than those in Jambo House (the Values in Jambo House are even smaller).

All Jambo House 2-bedrooms are Lock-Offs which is a Studio & 1-Bedroom w/an interior connecting door. These only have 2 bath rooms (1 in the studio and 1 in the 1-bedroom). The studio has a queen bed and a sleeper sofa.

Kidani Village has both lock-offs & dedicated 2-bedrooms and all have 3 bath rooms. The 2nd bedroom in the dedicated 2-bedroom will have 2 queen beds.

The Jambo 1BRs have a combined whirlpool tub and shower in the master bath. If you want to take a shower, you have to step into and out of that deep tub. The master bath is separated from the master bedroom by a small hallway so you cannot move between the two in privacy, but it does allow those sleeping in the living area to use the bathroom without going though the master bedroom.

The master bath in the Kidani 1BRs is directly connected to the bedroom so you can move between the two in privacy. Those sleeping in the living area have their own full bathroom to use. The master bathroom in the Kidani 1BRs has a separate whirlpool tub and shower stall. All of these things plus what Michael posted make the Kidani 1BRs and 2BRs nicer in my opinion.

Another thing is the room location. I prefer a lower floor putting us closer to the animals. Only Kidani offers the option to request a low floor. In Jambo you are going to be on the 5th floor (or 6th floor if you book Club Level). The parking at Kidani is on the ground floor, under the building with several elevators scattered around the parking garage to take you up to your room. If you drive to WDW or rent a car, it's very convenient having the parking area so accessible.

Back when Jambo House was undergoing the conversion of the 5th and 6th floors to DVC, I downloaded the floor plans and looked at each and every villa's floor plan. I don't recall seeing any 1BR with more than one bathroom. I also can't imagine where they could put a 2nd bathroom in the 1BR villas at Jambo. There isn't room for a 2nd bathroom.

When we get a 2BR, we go for the Kidani dedicated 2BR. They are a lot better than the 2BRs at Jambo. You get close to 100 extra sq ft (a very noticeable difference), significantly more closet space, the separate tub and shower in the master bath (and that stepover at Jambo for the combined tub and shower is huge and many older persons actually have to sit on the ledge to swing over into the tub), an extra bathroom (and there is no 1BR at Jambo that has a second bathroom), the master bath is directly connected to the master bedroom (Jambo's is across the hallway from the master bedroom, which hallway is viewable from the living room), two queens in the second bedroom, and one long balcony stretching across the master bath, living room and second bedroom (the lock-offs have a wall on the balcony dividing the studios from the 1BRs.

This is what we do. If we book a studio, we pick Jambo. Anything bigger is definitely Kidani. Unless we need to save points and get a value.

Not that I've ever heard of. Jambo was retrofitted from existing hotel rooms. For the 1BR's they used 1 room for the living area and afaik the kitchen went where the bathroom used to be. Then the second room was turned into the master and the bathroom.

Studios are much closer in size/amenities than 1 and 2BR.
I prefer Jambo for studios due to more dining options at Jambo.

Studios at each are about the same size. The biggest room difference to consider is the bathroom area. At Jambo, the toilet and tub w/shower are in their own little room with a door, next to main sink area. At Kidani the tub w/shower is in the open next to the sink area while the toilet is in its own room. In other words, when showering at Kidani, you can be seen by others if they are also using the sink, at Jambo not.

Our usual rule is if getting a 1BR or 2BR, go to Kidani, if studio go to Jambo, and if only two nights and first time, I would definitely choose Jambo because it has three restaurants, a nice mezanine bar off from the lobby, the much larger store, and larger pool and lobby.
