Hey Y'all !!! I am so excited about our upcoming trip that I thought I would do my first PTR. Not my first trip report - or dining report, but my very first PRE-trip report. I don't know how many people will be interested in reading, but I hope you all will at least stop in to say hello.

Here's our cast of characters. There's me:

063.jpg

At the time of the trip, I will be 44, but for now, I'm still holding at 43. I am an irrigation designer for a landscape architect and I am positively obsessed with Disney. I blame this all on my BFF Pixie Princess here on the DIS. She had been my friend since we were 12 and it is her fault I am addicted to Disney.

Actually, my first trip was when I was 41 and since she was the only person I knew at the time that was crazy about Disney, I asked her for help. And boy did she ever !! She gave me all kinds of wonderful advice and she really helped make our first trip super magical. After that first trip of course .... we were hooked. And we had to go back. Since that time, we have been back six more times. So, A total of seven trips.

My DH

It took him a couple of trips to really warm up, but now he is always IN for another trip and even convinced me to buy into DVC this past June. Actually, it didn't take much convincing. He is our sherpa. Carrier of all things important. Also, he insists on being the driver and I gladly give him the privilege. He loves the characters and will jump in a photo anytime he gets the chance.

DS12

He's our daredevil. He wants to ride the fastest ride, the scariest ride and since DH and DD don't like that kind of stuff, usually, it is momma that gets dragged along. He's pretty funny, too, and our last trip he came up with this photo at Hollywood Studios.

DSC00856.jpg

I thought it was pretty funny. Oh, and I may need to mention ... he has kind of a dark side.

And last but not least, DD9

DSC01065.jpg

She is the sweetest and the most timid of our group. She won't ride any of the thrill rides, but loves stuffed animals and we usually aren't able to leave without at least three new ones for her collection.

Up next - Itinerary for the trip !!!

joining in. We love our DVC and will be there at the same time as you.

Itinerary

Friday, April 6, 2011 - Day 1

The plan on this day is to wake up as early as possible. DH is thinking 3 or 4 AM. And even though that seems early, I am soo in for getting up that early if it means getting to Disney sooner.

We plan on getting things ready the night before, and heading out super early to beat the traffic. DH prefers to drive at night anyway. And the rest of us can sleep in the car. Normally, it takes us about 7 hours to get there, but DH has made in 6 before. Breakin' the law !! :drive:

So we expect to arrive around 11 AM or earlier and check in to:

We are using our DVC points to stay at Kidani Village in a 1 BR villa. We are very excited about staying here. We toured the 1 BR villa during our DVC presentation and we thought it was just beautiful.

We hope to be able to check in when we arrive, but if not, then we will just head over to Animal Kingdom. We will at least have our KTTW cards so we can get some food. We will have the dining plan on this trip. We LOVE the dining plan and DH and I every much enjoy eating at the table service restaurants.

We have an ADR for dinner on this day at:

Yak and Yeti in Animal Kingdom.

We have never eaten there, but we are looking forward to trying something new. I know that it always smells amazing when we walk by, so hopefully it will taste amazing as well.

Hello neighbor to the south!!!!! I can't wait to hear more.:)

OK Love the picture of your kids:laughing:
And oh DVC membership:worship:

Will ya just look at it ?? Isn’t it beautiful ?? I’m in love … for realz.:lovestruc

For the record, DH and I split all of this alcohol. I don’t want to be completely plowed at Disney. Slightly buzzed, maybe, but not blasted. Who wants a hangover at rope drop ?? Not this girl !!

Love it! Can't WAIT for more - C'mon - you're HOME now ;) edited to say - I should read better - I THOUGHT you were going January 6 - 15th. You mean we gotta wait 3 MONTHS???

81 days to be exact !! I know ... torture. When we booked this trip, it was over 400 days, so now we are below triple digits. I am scream-in-my-pillow excited about this trip !!!

I just saw your signature. You are cruising to Hawaii ?? Oh eM Gee !! I bet you are sooooo excited. Hawaii is on my bucket list. Please say you are going to do a trip report !!

Saturday April 7, 2012 Day 2 – Part Two
As if the previous post isn’t enough food, Our meal plans for this day are:
Breakfast at Mara

animal_kingdom_lodge_mara.jpg

Maybe just some pastries – use some snack credits. I hope they have chocolate croissants. I love those things. And definitely a gallon of coffee.

Lunch at Electric Umbrella

Electric-Umbrella.jpg

The kids love this place. They do have a very nice greek salad.

And our dinner ADR is for Via Napoli.

Very excited about this ressie. We had a ressie for it on our last trip, but we called and cancelled so we could spend more time with my BFF and her daughter. We were having such a good time (and so were the kids) that we decided to just have lunch with them so we could maximize our time together.

We hope to be through with dinner just in time for Illuminations.

DH LOVES fireworks.

Looking back over the plans for this day, I have realized that it will be a VERY long day. I think what we will probably do is hit rope drop, ride what we can and gather fast passes. Grab some lunch and hit the World Showcase. Maybe about 2 PM or so, head back to the resort for some rest and a swim and then head back to the park. Use fastpasses from earlier in the day and have dinner and watch the fireworks.

That is the plan anyway.

Sunday (Easter), April 8, 2012 – Day 3 – Part One
Magic Kingdom Day !!

100_2603.jpg

100_2622.jpg

100_2630.jpg

I know that it goes against all good Disser planning to go to Magic Kingdom on a holiday, but we don’t care. Our first trip, we went on Easter Sunday in the morning and got a lot of stuff done. It got busier during the day, but the first couple of hours were practically empty. So we are going with it.

I just love Magic Kingdom. This is DD’s favorite park and she is always extra happy on this day. She likes to wear her Rapunzel dress

100_2604.jpg

And Disney popcorn is her favorite. She says it tastes extra good at Disney. I think it tastes like regular popcorn, but I will keep that to myself and not spoil her magic.

100_2627.jpg

Her favorite ride at Magic Kingdom is Big Thunder Mountain Railroad.

100_2709.jpg

100_2801.jpg

We rode it as much as we could on our last trip since sadly, it will be down for refurb during our upcoming trip.

DS loves Space Mountain

100_2762.jpg

I used to ride it with him, but last January when I rode with him, something popped in my neck. I thought the ride was super jerky, but didn’t think much of it until the next morning when I had a HUGE knot on the lower back of my head. I asked DH to take a look at it and he was shocked. He said it was all black and blue and it looked like someone had belted me in the head with a baseball bat. We debated going to the doctor, but I decided to suck it up and took a bunch of motrin and carried on. The lump and bruising stayed that way for about two weeks. We just figured that I popped a muscle back there or something. It was darned uncomfortable. Anyway, I won’t ride it anymore and DS bravely rides alone in the single rider line.

DD and DH won’t ride the faster rides. I get this about DD. But DH ?? I don’t understand his line of thinking here. I mean he won’t ride Space Mountain or Expedition Everest, but he is in Colorado this week skiing – double black diamond slopes. Seriously, it makes no sense. I mean wouldn’t you agree that riding a Disney rollercoaster is safer than skiing practically vertical down a mountain in subzero temps ?? It defies logic ….

DH and I both love the Peoplemover

100_2747.jpg

100_2753.jpg

Also known to us as “The Blue Train”. We love this ride !!

I believe that Magic Kingdom is really a magical place and that it is the heart of Walt Disney World.

We love everything about it. The only thing that we don’t really like is Stitch. Why can’t that be down for refurb instead of BTMRR ??

Yeah, a popped muscle is definitely not a welcome part of a Disney trip! I love the Peoplemover too! It's such a nice and relaxing ride (even though it does all kinda feel like a commerical for Tomorrowland! :rotfl:)

We just love it. A definite must do every time we go to MK. I liked the other version better - pre 2009 refurb.

"Attention, all visitors from Galaxy M-31, please keep forward-facing tentacles clear of oncoming metroliner vehicles, thank you."

It was much more fun. But I love it anyway.

Last time I rode space mountain I thought I was going to end up with whiplash, the ride was so jerky . That was a few years ago and I don't plan on riding it again.
I 'm surprised at the people mover pic, I've never seen so many people on the attraction at once.
