Super excited for our first stay at Animal Kingdom next week! We have a 1 bedroom standard view at Kidani... looking for info on rooms you've loved and hated!!!! Anything special I should stay away from (like outside dumpster areas, noisy luggage areas, etc)? Any other helpful info you can share??? TIA :)

We had a one bedroom standard view once that was at the end of the hallway so it had a partial savannah view. It was really nice. We didn't mind being near the end of the hall because we had a car so we parked near the room.

For possible standard view requests at Kidani: (a) if you want to try for a room that was converted to standard from savanna view and thus has at least a partial savanna view, request either near the Pumba elevator or near the standard grand villas; be aware however, that would put you on the north wing with a huge walk to the lobby and bus stop and put you furthest from Jambo if you are thinking of walking over to it for restaurants; (b) if you want short trip to the pool, request room with pool area view or near the Rafiki elevator (down that elevator, which is also on the north wing, to ground floor provides the shortest posible walk from the building to an entry gate to the pool); (c) if you want to be close to the bus stop and to community hall, both of which are on the south wing, request either close to community hall or close to the Timon elevator; note however standard rooms in that area are weak on any views, looking mainly at the back wall of the bus stop; (d) if you want shortest walk to Jambo (about 1/4 mile) and not real far from the bus stop, ask for close to the Zazu elevator, which is the last elevator on the south wing; however, you will have a very long walk to the lobby and pool. One request you should definitely add if you have standard is high floor. All requests shuld be made through MS and not through use of the online check-in system page that allows requests to be made, which does not have the requests I have mentioned, and, if used during online check in, wipes out any requests you made through MS.

Thank you! This is so helpful :)

Could anyone tell me , if the standard views for 1 bedrooms have lots of noise from buses, traffic, etc.? We once had a standard room almost next to the lobby and we had cars going by constantly. But we were so sick we didn't care. Not sure of how the villas are a set up along that loop.

1BRs are located throughout the building, with standard limited to first four building pods on south wing, first three to four pods on north wing and then some converted savanna to standard view rooms in the sixth and possibly seventh building pod on north wing.. Regular traffic, other than buses, is not really a noise issue anywhere at Kidani. Cars have only two places to go from the access road which is some distance away, either to the front entrance/lobby area or under the building to the parking areas. Some standard rooms near the bus stop (those in south wing in second and possibly third building pods from the lobby) could get some noise from the bus stop if balcony doors are open.

We just got back from a standard view near Timon elevator overlooking the bus stops. We heard the annoying bus beeping every day even with the balcony doors shut. I slept through it but my father said it woke him every morning.

We had a standard view 2br at Kidani a few years ago, and a 1br this past year, that also overlooked the bus stop, and we loved it! Maybe we're good sleepers, but the beeping of the buses never kept us up. In fact, my DH and I enjoyed many evenings on the balcony with a snack and a glass of wine watching people coming back from the Parks. :) We had a quick walk to the lobby, pool, and bus stop, which was great too!

It totally depends on where your room is, but from the 1br we had a great view of Wishes, which was an amazing surprise!! It's funny because our 2br couldn't have been far from where the 1br was, but we definitely didn't see Wishes from there.

You could see wishes???? I had heard of seeing fireworks from AKL, but never heard of location.

We could! We actually didn't believe it ourselves until we checked what time it was, what the schedules for the Parks were that day, etc. There was no music of course (except that I have it on my phone haha) but it was still a pretty nice view! There were several families out on their balconies enjoying it too, which made it even more fun.
