Kid necessities at the parks??

What are absolute necessities that kids should have at the park? I am planning on the older two carrying their own drawstring back packs. I'm thinking they'll put their autograph books w/ pens, water bottle, and disposable camera.
Just wondering what else they might need throughout the day that I haven't thought of. We'll have a stroller for our youngest as well.
I see lots of pics of peoples with lanyards...do they need one to keep track of a pass or ticket of any kind.
We'll be there mid Dec....any other suggestions would be much appreciated!

Maybe a poncho for wet rides..... you can get them for $1 at some dollar stores..... I think laynards are a good thing if they are gonna be holding there own tickets. But if you are going to be holding them all in a waist pouch its not as Important, inless they want to do pin trading

Depending on their age, I endorse giving them a lanyard with a card holder to keep their tickets, fast passes, etc.

If you are the snacking type - I'd let them carry a few of their own snacks - and maybe gum or lollipops for a sweet treat!! With younger kids, I've given them a small coloring book/notebook and some crayons to keep them busy at a restaurant or if we are just sitting on bench.....oh, what about some glow sticks if they like that????

We just went with a 9,7, and 3 year old. We only carried one small backpack, and it went in the bottom of the stroller. All that was in it were those cheap, little ponchos, some packs of raisins, water bottles, and our autograph book/pen. The water bottles came out of the backpack when we were off the bus.

I carried our tickets on me, and my DH carried our camera. This was our first year for no diapers , and I was pretty excited about taking as little as possible into the parks. I was the only one to wait in the bag check line while everyone else went ahead. It was GREAT!

You are not going during a crowded time, so I don't think you need to worry about things to entertain. Plus, there is so much to look at!!

We also just got back from 9 days at the world. We have a 12, 9, and 4 yr old. The only things we took with us all fit into a single backpack that rode in the back of the stroller behind DD4, or in the side pouch of the stroller (her autograph book & pen - my sons, as they say, are now too old and "cool" for such things as gathering signatures anymore). Inside the backpack was a change of clothes for DD4, 5 ponchos which we never needed, a couple of extra water bottles and sunscreen to reapply part way through the day. I kept all of the KTTW cards in my pocket, and FP's too. DW and I took turns carrying the camera. There are no real "necessities" other than that they wear shoes. There's so much to look at and do there - and table service restaurants will provide a kids menu/color page & crayons - so you don't need to bring your own. My vote is to take LESS into the parks! Only having one person have to walk through the bag check area is GREAT!!

We go in November and always pack a pair of lightweight legging type pants for our girls as the evenings get cold. Also, sweatshirts. You may want to throw them in a locker.

In addition to Snacks and water I would bring an extra set of clothes for your youngest. My DD (4) loves to run through the water areas so we are always set incase she is too wet or too messy from a treat.

This past trip we were forced to lighten our load due to a stroller mix up. We left our normal stroller at home on accident so we bought an umbrella stroller. Normally we would throw a large bag under it with everything we need. The new stroller didn't have a large storage area so we only took a toddler size backpack, which housed the camera, rain ponchos, change of clothes and snacks. I also always include one toddler meal (gerber). There is one she still likes so I know if she needs to eat, she will have something she likes. It beats buying a kids meal she is not going to eat. We do also bring a small toy that can entertain on transportation and lines if necessary. This I had on my back. We also brought my daughters soft sided lunch box (insulated) which we packed soda, water and juice boxes (we only give her Mots Tots which you cannot buy in the parks). We threw in an ice pack and we were set. We hung that on the stroller and it worked great.

Our next trip will be the same as this one! One backpack, soft side lunch box and we are off...

We go in June (HOT!) so each of my kids wears a Camelbak.
