I have two boys 4 and 7. Would like to try one of Disney's nicer restaurants on an upcoming trip. Nothing too romantic, but not Chef Mickey's either, ya know?

You have to love Jake Ryan in Sixteen Candles...

Hmmmmmm, two boys and a signature restaurant... well I was at Citrico's one night and there were two little boys eating at the next table with their parents, well behaved and enjoying the restaurant...Is Spoodles considered signature because I think it is a fine family restaurant???

We've taken our son to Flying Fish and he loved it. I also ate at Artist Point one night and saw a family with a few small children.

We are taking a 5yo with us to Narcoossee's. Have not been there yet, but will be there in time to see Wishes and the Electric water parade from the deck, so this gives us a chance to move around ie. your boys won't need to sit still for the whole meal. Also his attire will be polo or short sleeved shirt, khakis and sneakers (sandals could work too).

Finally, all of the reviews I have read have been very positive, food, service and atmosphere so I am excited for our first night meal.

I'd suggest California Grill. My ds5 loves watching the MK from the table (you can follow the steam around from the train!). I know some people are going to disagree with me since it is known as one of the pricier or fancier ones, but there are always tons of kids there.

Every signature restaurant at WDW will have kids in it. As long as they are well behaved, of course, they are always welcome, and people should expect them to be there. (exception of course, for Victoria and Alberts)

I would suggest you try Narcoosees. It is a slightly more casual vibe there and with the wood floor and high ceiling it has a slightly louder noise level there as well, so kids are less noticeable if getting a bit fidgety. Really, your kids are welcome anywhere, so choose whatever restaurant you wish to dine in. Bring some things to keep them busy, the kid menus and crayons they offer wear off quick. Maybe pick up another coloring book from a resort gift shop or some stickers or something before you go. I think it's great you are taking the young ones to a nicer place to dine, as they get older they will have learned how to behave by learning it young, you know?

Artist Point is another good choice as the tables are not too close together, and it also has a very high ceiling. Narcoosees windows have a better view for the kids though.

My kids have been to California Grill and Artist's Point. Both were great. There were a lot of kids at CG, and it is somewhat of a loud restaurant anyway. At AP they get to put their coloring page on a special bulletin board for the kid "artists." This restaurant is quieter, but they put us in a section where no one else was seated. Guess they were worried! My kids are used to fancy dining, as we call it, with grandma and grandpa. We also usually eat between 6 and 6:30. I am guessing there are less kids at the later seatings. In October we are trying Jiko. As long as they have a fancy dessert, my kids love our night of fancy dining. Have fun!
