Im so excited and totally ready for my first ever Vacation away from my 3 boys (ages 7 and twin 5 year olds) My husband mentioned going to disneyland as a solo trip (as wishful thinking) to his sister and she offered to watch our boys EEEKKK :) So I want to make the best out of our 3 days in park on my first ever time away from all my kiddos (besides hospital stays ive never been away from my kiddos)

SO anyways sorry for the long story here are a few questions

Blue Bayou for a very picky eater? seems he will only eat 1 thing which is the rib eye. Worth the price or no.. Ive always wanted to go since I LOVE PoTC

We are thinking about getting MaxPass since its just the 2 of us.. Pros / Cons?

What is new since we last went? I know there is alot of walls up right now but the Train and the riverboat is running and I guess the canoes are back which im excited about :)

Last and not least how bad will it be during April 5th - April 7th. I know that is spring break for my kids (the best time for everyone involved to go.. WE figured it would be easier to navigate a busy park with us the 2 of us so maybe it wont be so bad?)

Thanks again, You guys and gals ROCK

Maxpass, especially for two of you (so $20/day), is ONE HUNDRED PERCENT worth it. Hopefully I stressed that enough. haha. I would sooner go without dinner and eat a granola bar, if I couldn't come up with the $20. Gamechanger for the enjoyability of the parks, especially if it's at all crowded.

Going solo for me makes it possible to do things that are too expensive when I haul the grandkids along.

Are you considering a "Fantasmic! dining package" this gets you dinner and a FP to Fantasmic! priority viewing.

If you plan to do the package, your dates are only about a week away.
To get your favorite time to eat, book right when the reservation window opens.

A regular dining reservation at the Blue Bayou doesn't include the FP for Fantasmic!

Consider WOC Dessert Package - You pay in full at time of booking

MaxPass (MP) - MP is so beneficial. I have yet to see someone say it was not worth it.
The only time I've seen cost of MP questioned, is for those/families on a tight budget or large groups.

"You ask what's new since your last visit?" When was your last visit?

I feel your dates are going to be fine. There doesn't seem to be too much on the schedule then.
Plus the lower AP's are blocked for those dates.

Definitely get Maxpass! It's so worth it. As a picky eater myself, I did just fine at the Blue Bayou. They are quite accommodating to special requests(I usually ask for sauces on the side so I can try them without them "ruining" my food if I find them disgusting). Enjoy going at your pace instead of the your kids. Take time to see things you wouldn't normally see, spend lots of time on the rides yours are too little to ride.

SO our last trip was June 2017 the train wasn't running nor the boats (but the island was open) and Fantasmic wasn't running either :( But with all the walls and Paradise pier being reworked just wondering what might be new..
I never thought about a fantasmic dinner package I'll have to look into that..

Ill have to ask the hubby to see if he is interested in the WOC dessert package

Seems im sold on the maxpass system <3 anything to make our trip run smoothly... I just want to enjoy my first time away from my kiddos <3

Great tip! That will make the decision a lot easier :)

Have the best time! My husband and I have the best and most relaxing time when there are no kiddos in our party.

We are going sans kids in April too, I'm so looking forward to it! We'll get hoppers as the extra price is easier to justify when just buying 2 tickets and we dislike hauling the kids from park to park anyway. We'll do WOC dessert party and a couple of other dining experiences they wouldn't appreciate. Actually check out shops and all the little details etc.

Hubby and I are going with another adult couple in September. We're going to do the WoC DP and some dining packages and stay as late as the parks are open!

Absolutely do MaxPass, at least one or two days! My husband and I just went for one day in December without kids, and it was great! (Though we did a little more commando and little less relaxing, since we just had one day, and a park hopper!)

We've done one trip without kids and it was a lot of fun. I would do the Fantasmic BB dinner package if it is offered when you will be there and Maxpass for sure. Sometimes the Fantasmic package dinners are slightly different than the regular dinners. Have your DH check out the menu before committing. You can alternate between going comando or taking it slow to wander around looking at shops and the little things. I always prefer rope-drop for rides, then taking it slow in the afternoon.

I have a alarm set just so I can get BB Fantasmic package My fingers are crossed Ive always wanted to eat at the BB but never could justify it with my family of 5.. I have already called and double checked menus for that reason and the will have at least ribeye for my hubby so he is all happy *LOL* We have a little disneyland experience so Im not at stressed as the first time going if that makes sense. We just want to have fun and I definitely want to keep my mind off of being away from my kids (who Drive me insane but seem to be having anxiety over leaving go figure *LOL*)

I understand where you are coming from. We have 4 boys and started with twins followed by two singles. I have anxiety leaving them too, but it is so nice to get away. Focus on doing anything that you wouldn't do if they were there. On our trip we sat on a bench for over an hour waiting for a parade. We talked to some random couple next to us and people watched. My kids would have been grumpy doing that, but it was fun.

How fun! If you don’t get a BB Fantasmic ressie don’t despair. Our trips are usually spur of the moment and by checking daily and not being picky about times, we can usually pick up something that someone cancelled. Spots often open up about a week before the trip. IMHO, this is a must do. The B.B. section always seems to have a bit of “breathing room.”

I think a BB Fantasmic package is such a GREAT idea for you and your husband on a no kids trip! Hope you have a blast!
