Can you believe I have already reached Day 5 of my TR?????? This marks the half way point of my trip! I don't have to do music at church today so I have some free time, but I do want to get outside for a run before it gets too warm, so I'm going to make my first update brief!
Well, ya all know I was in the BR a lot the night before, so I slept a little later than usual. I woke up feeling a little washed out and since it was already late, I decided to skip the morning workout. We had a ton of snack credits to use in the next 36 hours, so I thought I would redeem some for breakfast items. This is when I found out the the store at Kidani has extremely limited breakfast selections. I was hoping I might be able to redeem them for some Entenmann's items, but when I asked which breakfast items were snack items they pointed me to these ridiculous prepackaged muffins and danishes that looked like they belonged in a vending machine for 60cents.

Even the fruit looked a bit wiped out. I said, out loud, "Forget it". I wasn't rude, just disgusted. So I took the next bus down to Jambo. I had a nice, brief conversation with the bus driver. She was very pleasant. She told me I could take the DTD bus back. I wondered how long I would have to wait for that bus at 7:45 in the morning!

Obviously, I walked back!
The Mara had lovely crossiants, danishes, bagels, ect. Kidani really needs to do something about improving their breakfast snack items. I am not much of a complainer when it comes to food, but those items were pathetic. I enjoyed my walk back to Kidani. It was quiet, it was still relatively cool outside. Cool?....did I say Cool? Let's just say it wasn't blazing hot outside, yet!
When I got back I set out on the task of upgrading park passes. I told all the older boys to leave their park passes out on the kitchen counter the night before. DS 16 and his friend went to EMH at Epcot, after they left us at HS. I'm not sure what time they got back. I stopped paying attention to their comings and goings

. At least, I don't remember paying attention that night!

I bought everyone a 5day park pass and now it was time to lengthen them. In retrospect, I should have gotten 7 days for everyone because it took the gentlemen soooooooo long to change the 4 passes. I'm not sure why it took so long and he kept apologizing. He was moving quickly, but I guess there are about 10 separate steps involved in each upgrade and each pass had to be done separately. And....he had to print a new card for each person. It was confusing, to say the least. In addition, I added the water parks to DS friend's pass.
Despite the fact that the upgrade took what felt like an eternity (and was probably only 15 - 20 minutes), I got a very magical surprise during this process. Back in 2006 I bought myself and my sons a 10 day non-expiring, water park ticket. At the time there were 6 plus visits on those tickets. We used the actual park tickets over a period of two separate trips eons ago, but we still have plus visits left. I asked the man doing the ticket upgrades to check DS 16's ticket to see what he had left. I knew he had used 4 and should have two left. I was simply double checking. WELL GUESS WHAT?????????? He told me the ticket had
SIX PLUS VISITS LEFT! Can you stand it?????

Apparently all the old ten day non expiring tickets converted from 6 plus visits to 10 visits! I was pretty happy about this. I feel I really ended up getting my money's worth and I am very glad I bought those tickets when I did. Yeah!
So new tickets in hand, I went back to the room to start waking up the crew to get ready for the coming day. The two older boys were planning to go to Blizzard Beach and the rest of us were heading to MK. We were supposed to go to MK on Tuesday, but the dreaded rash delayed our visit. Today, Friday, was originally an undecided day. Now it was our MK day. The only thing I felt bad about was the LJ really wanted to go to a water park. Typhoon Lagoon, to be exact. He had read about it before the trip and asked about it several times. Even his parents were cool with him going to a water park, which surprised me because I think the water parks require ALOT more supervision than the regular parks. I'm curious to see if anyone with kids agrees with me on this. I think a 9 year old has to be watched really, really closely. That means either myself or my DS14 would have to watch him every second in the wave pool. Honestly, I really didn't feel up to it. I love the water parks, but I wasn't sure if I had the energy to keep up with a 9 year old. So, I felt bad.....but hey.....if the rash hadn't struck, I would have taken him today.
LJ is such a cool kid that he just took it in stride. His mom seemed more disappointed them him, but Typhoon Lagoon is a far cry from the water slides at the YMCA!
So.....next up....... A Magical (and very hot) Day at the MK. And pictures....lots of pictures!
