Is this the right place for this? Apologies if its not.

I want to surprise my trip mate (my 20 year old best friend) with this tour when we go in August. Right now we have 4 day PH with DDP tix and we're probably going to upgrade to the 5 day for the extra meals and because we want to save a day or two for when we come back next year. I think if we do upgrade it'll be better to do the tour so we'll have more time for everything

All the reviews I've read say it is great and worth the money, but since I'm footing the bill for both of us I want to make extra sure. I'm also concerned about the length of the tour. Were you able to do the tour and see the park the same day and not get burnt out?
Is this a good splurge to surprise her with? Any other advice?

KTK tour is WONDERFUL!! Totally worth the money. MY sis-in-law and I went last December and it is a hour tour. We also stayed in the park afterward. You are on your feet most of the time, but so much info. and things I would have never noticed before. LOVED LOVED LOVED it. We are sending our husbands on the tour this Sept. Great Surprize, GO for it! :thumbsup2

I liked the KTTK it was fun. I would definitly, when finished, go back to the rides and places that you learned about in the tour to see them again so you will remember the neat things you learned.

We had a great time on the tour and still had energy to tour the park afterwards. We would definately go on this again sometime.

I concur with the previous posters. I have done KTTK twice, once in 2000 and then again this past December. I learned different things each time. This last time we were given pins at lunch (nice bonus :thumbsup2 ) Definitely worth it. Our next trip, we're thinking of doing the full day backstage magic tour.

Awesome tour...especially if Mark is still one of the guides!

We really liked this tour and plan on taking the Epcot tour this October..
The Keys tour is long and if it is a hot day you will want a break in some AC when you are finished.
WE went over to the Bakery and had a snack and a cold drink.

The tour is worth every penny and remember lunch is included in the cost. Try and get one that starts as early as you can, you will be able to get some fantastic pictures of an empty main street before your tour starts!

We took the tour in March and loved it. It is long though, and if you take it in Aug, it will be HOT (it was hot in March!)

After the tour, my and DH actually went back to our resort to rest a little. We were both a bit tired from all the walking. We did go back to MK later in the day though. We didn't count that day as our MK day. We spent a full day there another day.

I don't think I would like having the KTTK as my only MK day.

It is a FABULOUS tour!

i want to know more about this never did any of the tour at disney.

I really enjoyed this tour a lot - went a few years ago and on subsequent trips have enjoyed seeing the park with this insider-type knowledge. I recommend a tour as early in the day as possible. I have some great photos of Main Street with virtually no one on it.

How old do you have to be for this tour? how many hours is it?

There is lots of stuff I would like to try, but since it is always just my son (now 8) and I it makes it hard to attend lol

Not sure the exact age - but I want to say you need to be at least 15 or 16 to attend. My tourguide explained at the beginning that they don't want to ruin the magic for children. Also - they tell you at the beginning that when you are "onstage" (meaning in public areas) the answer to your questions might be different than if you asked the same question "backstage" (in private).

Here is a link to Deb Wills site, it has all the info for each tour available and some links for tour reports... For the Keys tour and most of the rest you have to be at least 16 and they do check your ID! Worth every penny....

We are doing the KTK tour in August. When I made the reservation, I was told no cameras, but it sounds like some of you have taken pictures on Main Street before the tour. Is it ok to have the camera with you if you don't take it out during the tour? Thanks.

As long as you do not attempt to take any pictures you will be fine with a camera, we were not to use our cell phones either. You can also leave your camera where you check in for the tour they will put it in a secure place for you or just keep it put away in a bag with you. Or you could rent a locker and put all your stuff in that, it is alot of walking you won't want to be lugging any thing extra around.
Before we went backstage the guide again cautioned us no photos and don't even think about answering your cell if it rings!

They also gave out bottled water/coffee before the tour and we did have a break mid morning to get a drink if we needed more.

Thanks Bev J. I assume bathrooms are readily available on the tour too?

Bathroom breaks were not a problem, The guide kept everyone very happy...

Everyone also gets their own head set/receiver so we could hear everything the guide said if he got abit ahead of us...

They also make you a personal name tag to wear and keep, plus a beautiful Keys to the Kingdom pin for each person is given at lunch time.
We made fridge magnets out of our name tags...

It was wonderful! I just did it on our March trip. I did check my camera at the check in and was glad I did. It was easier to be handsfree plus I did not wonder if any CMs might think I was going to sneak a pic backstage!
