Hi
Just a quick question...I just booked my KTTK tour and was told no duffles, cameras etc...however, are fanny packs ok. I have a small one just to carry snacks/water and meds in...are these ok?
I thought about bringing my camel back...but that looks like a back pack but its full of water...is that ok? has anyone tried or should I just call them back?
Thanks

YES, absolutely a fanny pak is allowable....I had one of those HUGE Disney bags over my shoulder with me. I have EVERYTHING in that. They just DO NOT want you taking any pictures of certain areas. You will be fine with the camel pak as well. The group tends to be limited and the tour guide can monitor all of you. Also, they offer bottled water at the onset of the tour, if you opted to carry a bottle with you. But no they are not overly restrictive about bags or backpacks at all. They will say over and over again about taking pictures is not allowed. NO PROBLEM, OP, take your fanny pak and your camel pak!!! :thumbsup2
Have a BLAST. DH & I loved the KTTK tour! :goodvibes

I booked this tour for DH and I was told that you could carry your camera, but you could not take pictures on the tour. (I guess in the scenerio of staying in the park after the tour.)

We had fanny packs during our tour and just kept the camera in the fanny pack. As long as you don't take it out, you're OK.

ok...well that is good at least I will have my water...which is really all I care about.
BF nearly died when I told him that the wouldnt be able to keep his phone with him...heaven forbid the boy doesnt have some sort of technology on him. Oh well thats my boy for you! However, in this instance he understands.

OK so what shoes did everyone wear? I'm planning on wearing my tevas...but will I need more support then that?

OP: Tell your BF he can have his phone. That is NO problem. Hey, if he gets a call BIG DEAL. It is a very informal, casual tour. You are walking all over the MK, in and around the crowd. It would be better if he had it on vibrate. Believe me, it is not all that intense the restrictions. We stopped quite a bit in front of so many spots for long discussions...I mean it is allot of walking but not CONSTANT. Teva's IMHO are FINE. Lunch at CHH is fabulous. All in all a great tour..lengthy but you already know that...so informative. WE LOVED IT!!!!

This tour is ALOT of walking, about 5hrs with about a 20 min break for lunch and a bathroom break. Take as little as you can. If you have a big pack maybe store it in a locker and pick it up after...
They did ask everyone if they had a camera and said NO pictures and keep it in your bag. They are very concerned about you taking pics back stage.

We really enjoyed this tour and plan on taking a tour at Epcot in October.

Bev

I didnt know you could tour epcot too...very cool...will have to do that next time...
Tevas are ok...I had knee surgery about a year ago and I live in my tevas! I love them!!!

Oh where is lunch???

Lunch is at Columbia Harbor House - I think you need to order your lunch at the beginning of the tour, and I know you all eat upstairs.
Whatever shoes the OP would wear for a day of regular park touring will be fine.
And :thumbsup2 for getting your BF not to use his cellphone during the tour. It'd be inconsiderate to the other participants and to the tour guide for one or more people to be having "private" telephone conversations during the tour. Unless there's some HUGE urgent situation that needs to be addressed immediately, he could just keep the phone off (if he even absolutely 'has' to bring it) and check messages during lunch.

BF is good about not taking calls and turning off his cell when its not appropriate to have it on. So, I'm not worried about that.
He just doesnt like to be with out it and I dont want them to give him heck b/c he is wearing it. He will be well behaved...he doesnt like it when we arent in touch...heaven forbid I leave the house with out the darn thing (ok so what if something does happen to me??? OK so I think its sweet that he is so particular about me having my cell on-but what did we ever do with out them?-I seemed to be ok-but he loves me and wants to make sure I'm ok...I can handle that :lovestruc ) Ok I'm done being all mushy...

When we travel I like to make sure he has everything so that he is comfortable-he doesnt like to travel-However, he is getting better. So, I try to make sure there isnt anything that disrupts his routine too much. Thats all...he's well behaved...house broken and takes very good care of me.

I dont eat sandwiches...YUK!!! I'm a really picky eater...but you cant go wrong with chicken fingers

Huh!!I hope the info I was given is wrong.

I was told when booking "no bags of any kind are allowed on the tour". I was thinking we would get a locker because we have ressies at chef Mickeys for an early dinner and wanted to have our camera with us. The other issue is that the told us to be there at 8:15a (park doesn't open until 9a) so was wondering if we need to get a locker will someone be there to give us a key that early?

Anyone know??

Good question. I was told the same thing...although he also said that I could bring a small purse...well that doesnt work-where will I put my water bottle. I suppose if we get a locker we can put our backpack there with our jackets (just in case it rains) and then bring out fanny pack just in case.

I'm sure disney plans for rainy weather just in case...since we cant bring out back pack...we wont have our rain gear...

:thumbsup2 You can order anything off the menu!
Bags are allowed! We brought ours with our camera in it and used the early morning opportunity to take photos of the castle with no one else around! They didn't say a word to us about doing that. Just as long as you don't use your camera on the tour, it's fine!

YEAH ...happy dance!!! (I love this banana guy-but dont tell BF that!!!)
Life is good!

We did the tour last December. When you check in at Town Hall, they will give you a name badge, let you choose your lunch item off of a menu, and give you the option of checking (leaving) your bags at Town Hall. You do not have to rent a locker unless you want to.

So we get official name badges too!!! That is sooo cool...(sorry sometimes its the simple things...I wont tell BF about that one and it can be a surprise!!!)

Ordering off the menu is cool...now no eating just the chips to get some kind of calories (I'm very very picky)

We have a 900am tour...what is the earliest we can get into the park with our confirmation number???

I'm soo excited!!! :Pinkbounc

OP: You will get an official souvenir name tag AS WELL AS a fabulous awesome PIN (at the very end)!!!!
Our tour guide had so much trouble with the head phones and no one hearing her, she kept calling back to the main office and it seemed as though we probably had more "down time" then we should. BTW, they never did work out the kinks with the h/p so she had to basically YELL throughout the tour. She let us use the facilities any time we wanted. And take as much time with the lunch. I do not remember chicken fingers being an option? But their salads (which DH and & opted for vs sandwiches) where AWESOME!!!!!!

Bring whatever size bag you want, bring your camel pak, do not rent a locker. Believe me it is OKAY!
TEVA's that you plan to wear...if you have walked allot with them...go for it, they are a pretty high quality sandal and I think you will be FINE. :thumbsup2

EDITING THIS TO ADD: Our kids were back at home and we had our cells 24/7 ON, in case of an emergency situation. It won't be a problem to have it with BF and on vibrate to see who is calling...if it is very important to take the call, step away from the group and answer it! :thumbsup2

I think we went into the park about 8:15 for our 9am tour. They don't actually check a list we just told the CM out front checking in people for the early breakfasts that we were doing a tour and he let us right in. Seeing main street empty was sooo cool, a wonderful photo op.
Now our guide kept warning people with phones not to answer them if we were backstage. In the open park area it was OK...
