Keyblade Masters In Waiting (KH Discussion thread) - ALL KH Fans Welcome!

i do. and theyre darn adorable. i made them for a con with our big kh group cosplay xD. that was fun running around a hotel room at all hours of the night playing tag up and down the elevators and floors and having random anime and video game characters yell "hey riku" while youre hiding in the fake plants in the lobby...

im actually bringing new mickey mouse ones to the con in may :goodvibes

I LOVE the 1,000 heartless battle..... I hate Saix....Axel's gay, Roxas doesn't answer to his signals though....And Xemnas spells Mansex.

i rescued you! page 12 is not where you belong! -hugs thread-

anyway, im here to emberass myself once again xD i do it too often, no?

as some of you know im a nerd that makes herself a bigger nerd about 3 times a year by going to nerd conventions and dressing up with other nerds. this year we did kh at jacon and i only have one "good" picture of my riku even if its like...ridiculously small. so here:

AxelRiku.jpg

is becka in all of her ultimate geekdom.yes. i know that axel. yes i know they never are together in the game, but we were the only two there from our three person group. yes, i know axel's hair stinks. not his fault ;_;. and yeah, that jacket makes me ten times bigger than i really am, dont mind it, its already being fixed xD. and yes..i think thats it.

...go ahead and laugh xD i know i did!

Hooray, I am the geek to announce this. If you go to IGN or Gamespot, they have the story on Square Enix's party bash not to long ago. There apparently was a montage of previous KH games on CGI shown at the show. However, the interesting tidbit is that the next KH game (whether it is III or a spinoff) will be shown and talked about at TGS 2007 in September.

wow, this thread is old lol.. but anyway... i just thought some fellow kh fans would like some info on the upcoming 3 kh games... heres a copy and paste from another site:

Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days

Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days is an upcoming action role-playing game developed and published by Square Enix for the Nintendo DS with assistance from h.a.n.d. Inc. It is an installment in the best-selling Kingdom Hearts series. The game features Roxas during the time period of Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories after Sora entered a deep sleep. This game will explore the time from Roxas's creation until his confrontation with Riku that leads to his placement in the data-based Twilight Town in Kingdom Hearts II. It is said to be in full 3D as a single and multiplayer game. The game was announced at the 2007 Tokyo Game Show. Currently the title is only confirmed for a Japanese release, though Square Enix has plans for releases in other territories.

Gameplay
The gameplay is similar to the action role-playing game style of the previous games in the series. 358/2 Days will make minimal use of the system's touch screen functionality. The game will feature both single player and multiplayer gameplay. The single player mode will be story based focused on Disney worlds from past games and will progress in days. The two modes will be linked in that character growth will be shared between them.

Multiplayer
Cooperative multiplayer was one feature on display at the 2007 Tokyo Game Show demonstrating that players can work together, in addition to the traditional use of AI controlled partners. The multiplayer gameplay is separate from the single player story and will be mission-based, which include boss fights and competitive player battles. It will also allow up to four players to play as one of the thirteen members of Organization XIII. Each member will have different weapons and skills. 358/2 Days' multiplayer will also feature a chat system for communication between players, but will be different from PictoChat in that everyone will draw on the same screen.

Plot
358/2 Days revolves around the untold events of Roxas during his time with Organization XIII and will take place during the year that Sora was asleep between the events of Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories and Kingdom Hearts II. Tetsuya Nomura has noted that the game's prologue will cover the "birth" of Roxas, but the gameplay will start from when he enters the Organization. Roxas' daily duties with the Organization, his doubts of the Organization, and his departure from it will also be included in the story. The initial trailer showed most of the events in Twilight Town. Organization XIII's headquarters and Wonderland have been featured.

Characters

Like previous Kingdom Hearts titles, 358/2 Days will feature numerous Disney characters. Confirmed characters include Roxas, King Mickey, Riku, and the other members of Organization XIII, including a new female member. This new fourteenth member is considered a key character to the game. The reason why the Organization's name remained as "Organization XIII" with this member will be explained in the game.

Development
358/2 Days was announced alongside Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep and Kingdom Hearts coded at the Tokyo Game Show on September 20, 2007. A trailer was shown in the Square Enix "Closed Mega Theater", a photo-prohibited theater presenting 40 minutes of trailers. A new trailer is scheduled to be shown at the 2007 Jump Fiesta in December. 358/2 Days is being developed by h.a.n.d Inc. with Square Enix employees overseeing the process. The game is directed by Tetsuya Nomura and co-directed by Tomohiro Hasegawa. Nomura mentioned earlier in 2007 that he wanted to do a spin-off Kingdom Hearts game on a mobile platform and that he wanted the game to play slightly different than the other titles already in the series.

The game's logo uses warm colors as a reference to the sunset in Twilight Town. The title, "358/2 Days", is a code that Nomura has stated the player will understand the meaning at the very end of the game. The word "day" is attached to the title as a reference to the daily life of Organization XIII. The Nintendo DS was chosen as the system before plans were decided. The development team wants to have gameplay similar to previous Kingdom Hearts titles, but have stated that the number of buttons on the Nintendo DS is a problem. Some of the DS's functionality, like the stylus, is not being used in order to retain the similar gameplay from previous titles. The team is also looking to incorporate Roxas seeing Sora's memories throughout the game and having different types of gameplay for each world.

Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep

Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep is an upcoming action role-playing game developed and published by Square Enix for the PlayStation Portable. It is an installment in the best-selling Kingdom Hearts series that focuses on Terra, Ven, and Aqua, characters introduced in Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix. Many previously unexplained elements from the original Kingdom Hearts trilogy are present. The game was announced at the 2007 Tokyo Game Show.

Gameplay
Birth by Sleep is a single player Action role-playing game which features melee combat. The gameplay is believed to have gameplay similar to the action-RPG style of the previous games in the series. Tetsuya Nomura has stated that the gameplay will be similar to Kingdom Hearts Re:Chain of Memories in that decks will be used. The game will be divided into three scenarios, with each scenario having different styles of gameplay based on the personalities and abilities of the three main characters. Nomura has also stated that players can play from any of the three scenarios and possibly stop mid-way through one scenario to begin another. The developers also plan to add multiplayer components and a new character growth system.

Plot
Birth by Sleep focuses on the story of Keyblade masters before Sora from the original Kingdom Hearts game and is a prequel, taking place ten years before the original Kingdom Hearts. Nomura has stated that though there are three scenarios, there is not one singularly important scenario or character, but that the main theme is Ven's identity. The story was speculated early on to be connected to the unlockable trailers at the end of Kingdom Hearts II and Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix. Nomura has since confirmed a connection to the trailers. The story revolves around three Keyblade apprentices in search of a missing Keyblade master, Master Xehanort, and his apprentice. Their disappearance foreshadows a great disaster. The game will take place entirely in Disney-themed worlds, both new and old, and will reflect the time difference between this game and the previous Kingdom Hearts games. Some old worlds featured are Olympus Coliseum and Hollow Bastion, while some new worlds are based on Sleeping Beauty (1959 film) and Cinderella (1950 film).

Characters
Like previous Kingdom Hearts titles, Birth by Sleep will feature numerous Disney characters. Confirmed characters include Terra, Aqua and Ven, King Mickey, and Master Xehanort and his apprentice. The game will also introduce a new type of enemy different from the Heartless and Nobodies

Development
Birth by Sleep is named after the unlockable trailer at the end of Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix.It was announced alongside Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days and Kingdom Hearts coded at the Tokyo Game Show on September 20, 2007. A trailer was shown in the Square Enix "Closed Mega Theater", a photo-prohibited theater presenting 40 minutes of trailers. A new trailer is scheduled to be shown at the 2007 Jump Fiesta in December. Developed for the PlayStation Portable, the game is being directed by Tetsuya Nomura and co-directed by Tai Yasue. Director Tetsuya Nomura mentioned earlier in 2007 that he wanted to do a spin-off Kingdom Hearts game on a mobile platform and that he wanted the game to play slightly different than the other titles already in the series.

Birth by Sleep is being developed by the same team that developed Kingdom Hearts Re:Chain of Memories, and will use the same graphical engine as Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII. Development of the game began before the release of Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix+. Though the plot was completed, development was halted due to development of Re:Chain of Memories. The development team plans to make use of the PSP's functions and is considering either co-operative or competitive multiplayer gameplay. Of the three new games announced, Birth by Sleep was the first one to begin development, though Nomura speculates it will be the last one released.

Kingdom Hearts coded

Kingdom Hearts coded is an upcoming console role-playing game developed and published by Square Enix, in collaboration with the Walt Disney Internet Group, for mobile phones. It is an installment in the best-selling Kingdom Hearts series that focuses on King Mickey. The game was announced at the 2007 Tokyo Game Show. Currently, the title is only confirmed for a Japanese release, though Square Enix has plans for releases in other territories.

Gameplay
Coded will be a puzzle game with action mixed into the gameplay. The action gameplay is believed to be similar to the action-RPG style of the previous games in the series and features a similar basic interface. The game will feature 3D graphics, with backgrounds in 3D and characters in 2D. The initial trailer showcased Sora in dungeons with floating red and black blocks. Battle also features a "debugging" mode to remove the blocks in order to progress towards enemies. Blocks will also be used to solve puzzles or reach higher ground.

Plot
Coded is set after the events of Kingdom Hearts II. Jiminy Cricket returns to Disney Castle to organize the records in his journal. In his journal he finds a message that he did not write: "We must return to free them from their torment." To investigate this message, King Mickey digitizes the contents of the journal, awakening a virtual Sora on Destiny Islands.

Characters
Like previous Kingdom Hearts titles, coded will feature numerous Disney characters. Confirmed characters include King Mickey, Pluto, Jiminy Cricket, a virtual Sora, Donald Duck, Goofy, and the Heartless. The virtual Sora is in the original Sora's attire from the first game because he is created from data from Jiminy's earlier journal entries. The characters referred to as "them" in the message left in Jiminy's journal refers to the main antagonists of the game, which have yet to be revealed.

Development
Coded was announced alongside Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep and Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days at the Tokyo Game Show on September 20, 2007. A trailer was shown in the Square Enix "Closed Mega Theater", a photo-prohibited theater presenting 40 minutes of trailers. A new trailer is scheduled to be shown at the 2007 Jump Fiesta in December. Coded will be directed by Tetsuya Nomura and co-directed by Hajime Tabata, and is the first collaboration between Square Enix and the Disney Internet Group. Nomura mentioned earlier in 2007 that he wanted to do a spin-off Kingdom Hearts game on a mobile platform and that he wanted the game to play slightly different than the other titles already in the series.

The concept was devised by Nomura who wanted to make the game like a playground for fans. Tabata originally thought the initial plan was terrible but still interesting. The development team plans to make use of phone technology to facilitate interaction between players. Coded is being developed with 3D and 2D graphics to have the game available on a range of cellphones for distribution overseas. The game is currently being developed for cellphone models that are not yet available to the general public. Early screen shots showed the game in a wide screen format. This is based on the idea that more future models will feature a swivel screen. Nomura has stated that coded will be released via a new business model that the industry has not seen yet.
