Anyone do the Glass Bottom Boat in Key West?

If so, Was it nice, was it a nice boat, large boat etc.

I went to the (Do it on your own) website that is offered in The Passporter and the boat looks old and not so nice, nothing like the excursion sounds in the DCL excursion book. Didn't even look like a catamaran.

Anyone do this through Disney and if so how was it.

TIA

Joanna

Joanna - didn't I send you a packet on Key West information?
If I did, you should have some information on the glass bottom boat - now I do not know this first hand, but I understand several cruisers have gone on there and was disappointed by the offers of the boat as far as snacks and drinks - listen I sent you Key Kat information - call and ask to speak to Shelly and just tell her I told you to call her - she will more than be willing to share information with you - you do not have to go throught anyone to make special arrangements to see anything in Key West - you can do it on your own and save monies - everything is located right there at Mallory Square or you can find the information in the Key West packets -
Anyhow hope this helps and if I can help further on Key West, just let me know ok

I don't know if it is any different then the glass bottom boat we did in nassau once but that one was very disappointing to us all. You sat on bench like seats, there was a small viewing window on the middle that we all had to take turns looking in (and not seeing much) and it was a little high for the kids so you had to hold them up and over it for them to really see anything....
Hope somone can give you some more info on the key west one and that it is better than the one we took! We saw one going past the ship in Grand Cayman and it looked just like the one we took in Nassau!!

April2Gail...Doesn't sound to good. Will check out Shirley's packet.

Shirley...Thank You for the information. I will send you the envelope for KW information. I know I want sandals LOL

DH picked this excursion, it sounds just so nice in the DCL excursion book.

Thanks
Joanna

We had booked the glass bottom boat tour at KW through DCL for our June 5 (almost here!) cruise. We received a letter a couple of weeks ago that the boat would be in dry dock for repairs during our cruise. So we opted for the glass bottom boat on CC and will be 'winging it' in KW on Sunday.

Joanna,
I offer the information on Key West just as a courtesy since I am a Key West conch and well aware of all the "pitfalls" of it being a tourist town - I do enclose business cards of the places I have checked out and do recommend - it also has maps, coupons etc to help anyone decide what to do and where to go - the only thing I always advise is to BEWARE OF ALL TEE SHIRT SHOPS THERE - they get closed faster than a blink of an eye due to overcharging and fraudlent charges AFTER THE CUSTOMER LEAVES THEIR SHOPS - they overwhelm you with showing you dozens of items and before you know it, you walk out many $$$$$$$ less in your pocket - there is also problems with credit card charges ---Anyhow the packet runs about $3.75 in stamps since I fill it up with all types of information.
Hope this enlightens you on Key West.
Always
Shirley

Yes Shirley, I will be sending you an envelope with sufficient postage. I appreciate all you do for us.

Thanks
Joanna
