Key West, Florida: Where to Stay?

My husband and I are considering spending a few days in Key West this coming winter. Has anyone here ever been there? Where did you stay? Any recommendations? And what did you do while you were there?

OH YES!!! We went back in 2006 and stayed at the Heron House...http://www.heronhouse.com/

AMAZING! The staff was wonderful, great room..when we went they had a great complimentary breakfast and "wine and snack" hour that they set up at the pool bar outside..it was so nice! The location was great, right near the historic downtown area/shops..we walked everywhere except when we took the electric car for a spin I have a ton of pics, if you are interested in seeing pictures or more info PM me..i really can't say enough about this place..both the hotel and Key West.
