How do you normally carry this card around? My concern is losing it so can you have the option of attaching it to a landyard?

TIA!

My trip is over 2 months away but I am so excited that I look at these boards daily and always talk about my trip! Its a grand gathering and those who are coming with me think I'm crazy because I am always thinking or talking about my stay!!!!! :woohoo: :lmao: :dogdance:

There's another thread on the board that's relatively new about the KTTW card. You should post your question there. I'm sure someone will chime in with a response. ;)

I just carry mine in my wallet. You do need to carry it around with you because it is your room key, so you need it to get into the room. Some people buy a lanyard that has a plastic case attached to it and they put the card in the case.

Boy, this question has gotten a lot of milage lately; it usually comes up every few weeks, but I think it's come up about 3 times in teh last week!

I carry my KTTW card, park pass, FastPass slips, and PhotoPass card in a neck lanyard. The one I currently use was 97-cents at WalMart (found in the mens wallet section):

There are similar lanyards available at WDW in most of the gift shops, and even a clip-on ID reel (Mickey-head shape, of course) with a ticket pouch on it. I'd recommend picking up a few of the WalMart lanyards bfore your trip, and once you get there you can look around to see if any of the Disney ones appeal to you more.

1) Do not place it on a lanyard.
2) A hole punched through a card is a "VOID" signal.
3) Just put in a holder, in a wallet, or in your pocket.

Not to be indelicate, but do you guys typically wear them inside or outside your shirts? If outside, do you worry about theft or do you feel that it's safer than a wallet?

Just like any other place WDW is not immune from crime, however, it is probably safer than many, many public places where large amounts of people gather. Do you need to be "alert" ? - sure because anything is possible but IMHO not anymore aware than you probably are while out shopping or out to dinner ( ie don't leave you bag hanging off back of your chair or wallet in coat you are checking, etc. ) Common sense should always prevail even in a place as wonderful as WDW. I personally have never heard or read of a lanyard worn on outside of shirt being stolen at WDW ( not to say this hasn't happened ). Just as at any other public place, what you decide to carry & how you carry it depends on your comfort level. Some people will not carry a bag or backpack because they think it can make them an easy target, others will. Some find a waist pack preferable to carrying a wallet, etc. . . .

Our family often wear our lanyards on outside of shirt and we've never felt uneasy when we have. I think a greater concern regarding wearing the lanyard on outside of shirt would be it possibly getting snagged on something getting on or off a ride  .

I didn't know that punching a hole in it would render it "void". I was about to suggest that. :confused3 I was going to say that as long as you didn't punch a hole through the magnetic strip, that it'd probably be ok, but apparently not. Learn something new every day here on the DIS. :)

I usually put my KTTW card in a pocket, or if I'm using a waist pack, I put it in one of the outside zippered sections so that I can get to it easily. A plastic lanyard as mentioned by many here, is a great idea too. I've also used the thinner style plastic "water wallet", which can hold several cards, and I usually toss a few Advil in it too, just in case. LOL

P.S. I'm not sure of the ages of your Grand Gatherings group, but when DSs were young, we'd hand them they're KTTW cards to enter the parks, but then DH or I would take them back and keep them all together, for safe keeping. :)

I keep mine in my lanyard pouch along with ID and visa, and a few bucks.
