Key to the Kingdom tour questions

My DW and I want to go on the Key to the Kingdom tour when we go on the 24th. I have two questions for anyone who might know.

1. Do you need to sign up for this tour through DVC (we are members) now.

2. Our friends went and they loved their guide. Can we request a guide? And how?

You don't need to sign up through DVC. There are discounts available on the tour from DVC (I think), Disney VISA, maybe AAA. We did the tour a year ago and I think the best discount came from the Disney VISA card. Just call the general Disney number to book it and ask which will get you the best discount.

I wouldn't bother asking for a specific guide, I'd book the tour based on when it fits your traveling plans the best. I don't know if Disney even knows in advance when each guide will be scheduled to work. I also suspect that all of the guides are top notch. I've never had a bad behind the scenes tour at WDW- all the cast members really seem to know their stuff.
