i am taking my 4 kids and staying at RPR. my mom who is 73 and lives in orlando is going to park with us. we want to do early entry will she have a hard time getting in without the key card? she isn't riding rides just spending the time with us-they don't have a senior ticket (which is silly) but..

I would think she would need a card. I always get an extra card for our room to keep in my wallet, because we take out cards and put them in out lanyards. It's a pain to keep taking the cards in and out of the lanyard to get in the room. So after I checkin later that day I go to the counter and explain why I would like another key. They normally just put Mr. in front of my name on the extra card, so I have 2 in my name. I'm sure at the gate they would not look at the names just the dates and the card. It's worth a try.:thumbsup2

Do you have to show your key at every ride? I was going to carry everyone's in my party but if I have to constantly pull them out every time I will have to get a lanyard for everyone including my children.

yes, they will want to see everyones key when you enter the express line, and sometimes before getting on the ride as well

Ditto for us. I looked at the price of the lanyards, though, and nearly had a stroke. I'm not spending $60 on lanyards for us!!

Does anyone know the size of the key cards? I'm hoping they're small enough for us to use regular old name tag "necklaces" - you know, the simple kind you wear at a conference or something.

The room key cards are about the size of a credit card. Maybe a bit bigger.

You could prob find some less expensive ones at Walmart or Target maybe. Since we go back I have kept mine over the last few years. They were even nice enough to give us a new holder since DD lost the plastic holder on hers.

Now DH and I have the wallet ones so we can keep money, CC, ID, etc in there as well. Works better than having to carry around another purse or wallet.
