Sea World is the order of the day. Up again, I begin to feel the Theme Park Fatigue seeping in (TPF). You know when youre getting it because you cant be bothered to take the photos or the attractions become a blur
..
We were at Sea World by 8.50, again front row of the car park. Straight in, and as the time hit 9, everyone stopped for the US National Anthem, and as a mark of respect. We waited and stood and paid of respect.
Car Park - deserted .......
After that we went to Kraken, after the walkway was opened up, they are building a new large ride there called Manta, for 2009.
Kraken, great coaster, rode it 3 times, we never actually got off, but 3 was enough. I am getting old and a little large, so the harness does not fit so well, and I begin to really ensure the seat buckle is in place, as it does seem very tight. These kind of pre coaster thoughts really make for a terrifying ride!, but just one more go please !
After 3 continuous goes, we were asked to re queue as someone else had turned up!
No Journey to Atlantis, it was too early to get drenched for the rest of the day. We then just ambled around the rest of the attractions, Pacific Point, Shark Encounter, Penguins, Busch Hospitality Centre. As I walked round it was completely deserted, it was like I am Legend Film, people were on stands with nothing to do, it was embarrassing. People create atmosphere, parks can be just too quiet.
We watched the Clyde and Seymour show, same as 4 years ago, but still good fun, although the big Walrus does not even go in the water anymore at the end. Shamu show was not until 1.30. Next up was Wild Artic, still a very good experience especially the arrival at the Pole.
We visited the Key West Dolphin area, and were very disappointed that the section had been turned into an area for paying feeding guests, leaving the area for non payer rather quite small. I thought this was out of order really, but I suppose needs must.
Back for the Shamu show, as ever great entertainment, but I have such mixed feelings about Sea World, on one hand I applaud their efforts in their parks to use recycled materials, to offer recycling of bottles, and their patriotic stance towards their country and the respect they place on their military, but on the other hand, watching the Shamu show, is it really clever to get a killer whale to wave at you, or is that more mans ignorance towards another species on the planet we all live on?
So its a difficult call, but at then end I think, at least there is some sort of education, I feel that after watching the Shamu show, there is an educational message to maybe help save the planet, and that is an important message to get across at the moment, and there is a lot of pollution from the US and their inability to sign up for the pollution measures is not a great standard for the rest of the world to follow, so maybe its a good idea to support Sea World.
We left around 2.30, and ended up at DTD for a meal at Planet Hollywood. I had Steak sandwich, which was lovely, but the wife had Lasagne, but it was deep fried, I couldnt help but think the Italians would be crying in their Ciabata if they could see what the Americans had done to Lasagne.
After the meal, we were home at POP again, and a very early night, but I had to watch That Seventies Show as its so blummin funny ! .
