Kevin, when you book your ADR's, do you use your own name? Do you think there is any chance you have been flagged as a reviewer in the system? Of course that doesn't excuse the treatment you have received, but might explain some issues.

I thought Kevin once said he doesn't use his own name.
Not listened to the review yet, looking forward to it tho :)

:goodvibes

Just an observation and I don't want to chime in too much until Kevin weighs in, but if Kevin used his own name and they recognized it his group would probably get "white glove" service.

You would think that might be the case. I'm just digging for a possible reason for the crazy reaction. I know I've had some horrible servers even at Disney.

I do not use my real name when making reservations for dining reviews for exactly the reasons you've described.

I do use my real name when we are just going out to dinner.

If you don't use it....do you mind if I do?? :rolleyes1

I enjoyed Kevin's review of LTT, especially since we had eaten there for lunch just a few days afterward. Our experience was certainly better than Kevin's. As he will tell you himself, his reviews are only his opinion and that people should try and make their own opinions.

In our case we did get bread (without having to ask for it or being charged), our server was very good (no meltdowns), and the food was quite tasty.

We started with the fried cheese and it was good. Not outstanding, but certainly acceptable. I had the Penn chicken dish that was mentioned in the review and I found it tasty. I'll agree that the chicken parts weren't readily identified, but they were certainly edible. My step-daughter had the tri-conered sandwich which she loved. My wife and step-daughter in-law split the pot roast and enjoyed it. Connor (6YO grandson and sometime pirate) had the childs pizza (yes, one of Mickey's ears wasn't filled) which appeared to be the same thing he gets at any number of other WDW restaurants. Nothing I'd care for but he likes it.

Total for 4 adults and 1 child, after the DDE discount and adding the 18% gratuity was $70.

So, don't be afraid to give this place a try.

It amazes me that a waiter would have such a meltdown over rolls and a drink...

Are CM's being worked so hard that they are beginning to snap ?

Maybe he did receive some bad news, or maybe his medication was wearing off... who knows.

I just think the entire thing is just so odd. There's a missing piece of the puzzle somewhere. :confused3

when people go over to the dark side they are usually reacting to something they "perceive" as a personal attack, often what is heard is not what is said. my guess is that something they felt was totally innocent was misunderstood by the castmember and taken for rudeness. from the description, he was displaying all the signs of "feeling" intimidated by retreating and sending out someone else to deal with it. once things start to go south on ya they very seldom get better.

We've eaten here every trip and while I would agree that it's not the best, it's certainly not the worst.

When we ate there in June 2008, we had one of the best servers we've ever encountered at a restaurant. The whole trip was like that, but I digress.....he was great. His name was Rory. Pete mentioned that he filled out a form at customer service about him and I'm kicking myself for not doing it. However, we had a server at Le Cellier later in the week that put him to shame.....so that's who got the letter.

And WHAT is up with the bathroom situation? Easily the most heinous on property.

Oh and DH found me the recipe for William Penn Pasta and I make it all the time. In fact, we just had it for dinner tonight! I probably make it WAY better than LTT.....

 DH told me today I had to listen to Kevin's LTT review. As he said it, he had a big smirk on his face. I asked is it good or bad and he said, "You just have to listen to it." So, tonight I listened to it and thought to myself "Huh? What was up with that server?" Sometimes, real life is so much better than tv. You couldn't make that sort of thing up. It sounded like a Candid Camera moment.

We've never eaten at LTT. But, plan to try it at lunch sometime. The review didn't sway me one way or another. So, we'll go with an open mind and make sure to ask for our rolls and the drinks for our kid meals. ;)

Would it be possible for you to pass on the William Penn Pasta recipe? I'm always looking for another great pasta recipe. It sounded yummy. However, the execution at LTT may have been off.

LTT is one of my, if not my, favorite restaurants at WDW. But the only thing I have ever ordered there is the Pilgrim's Feast. Turkey, mashed potatoes, dressing, green bean/sliced carrot medley and you can get cranberry sauce if you ask for it.

We've been going to the LTT for many years now and what they used to do (I guess at least 10 years ago) is every table got rolls along with honey butter and apple butter. It was standard, just like everyone used to get water as soon as they sat down at their table. But I guess due to cutbacks and guest waste, we were told one year that they still had rolls, but you had to ask now. The rolls now aren't quite as good as they used to be, but I still couldn't imagine eating there without them. And they go very well with the apple butter.

Whenever our family orders there at lunch (the only time we go), we just ask for 4 Pilgrim's Feasts and mention the cranberry sauce, rolls and apple butter right off the bat. It doesn't take long for our server to know this isn't our first time there :)

Yes it would be nice if the waiters asked you if you wanted these things though. You shouldn't have to know any procedure when eating there. And don't let the kids meal throw you off. There is no possible way it was the same food they use for the Pilgrim's Feast. I have NEVER had a meal there that was less than perfect.
