I lived in Loudonville and I havent been to Jumpin Jacks in years and years and years.
They used to serve black raspberry soft serve ice cream that was beyond good.
I was never a fan of putting cole slaw on my burger. Isnt that what a Jack Burger is?
Things I miss about the Capital District...
Bob and Ron's Fish Fry or Ted's Fish Fry
L-Kens
Jumpin Jacks
Spa Brahaus German restaurant in Balston Spa
Fo'Castle Farms
Being able to be on the other side of the city in under 10 minutes (the highway system is pretty great)
Lake George and Saratoga in Autumn
Real trees (I like Palm trees and Oaks.....but I miss real trees)
I'll think of more.
And no...I dont miss these enough to move back to Albany.
You don't have to move back but you have an open invite to visit any time...
I can't wait until Jumpin Jacks opens... I waited in line last March in the COLD to get my first Jackburger (yes with coleslaw) but they also just came out with a sausage and pepper sandwich last year which is really good... the Raspberry soft serve is still there AND they have dole whips!!!

(even Pineapple...)
& we have the Scotia Cinema... best little 1 plex around!!!

It shows the older movies (by a couple of weeks...) but sometimes you watch the coming attractions and they're for movies that opened months ago!!! But what can you expect for being able to take 2 people to the movies including popcorn and a soda for under $15... & I took my nephew to the Malta drive-in because in TX where he lives they don't have them like that...
I'm close enough to do Lake George as a day trip but I LOVE and hope to have a place up in Speculator on Lake Pleasant (hoping by this summer actually...) I had to laugh on the podcast when Pete said he had to go all the way to Austrailia to see stars... he' hasn't been to the Adirondacks...
I love the donuts from Fo'Castle.. .I LAUGH at the traffic up here when it's Whizzing by at 60 at rush hour... The Track in the summer (and I have NO idea what Disney was thinking when they designed SSR because they left out having Siro's and Mrs. Londons as a restaurant and a bakery...and well... most of Saratoga...)
&&&& We have the 109th Airwing!!! They're right here at Schenectady Airport... They are the crew that go to Antarctica!!!! They buzz my house...in C130's... and we get a kick out of it... the rest of the neigbors hardly notice them, but sometimes I feel like I have a big arrow painted on my roof they use as navigation...
I'm not annoyed by the snow plows, actually. I mean, where are they supposed to shove the snow?
What annoys me is that everybody in my neighborhood blows the snow right out into the road. Even after the plow goes through, our neighborhood's roads are full of snow because nobody can just blow it into the grass where it won't get in anybody's way.
I have a neighbor who in the middle of the blizzard 2 years ago (with 2 feet of snow...) opened his garage door, saw that some of the senior citizens on the street were struggling, promptly closed the door and went back inside... and then came out again when it was dark to do his driveway...
