Ok, so I've been going through a phase where I don't want to listen to any of my normal supplementary material between podcasts. I've been supplementing with old ones (starting with the first one on itunes and going in chronological order).

About 2 weeks ago, the team was talking about trivia questions, and Kevin used "Name the children of the man who invented Teflon." It made me laugh SO HARD. It actually became my facebook status, and I did have a friend who knew the answer, shockingly enough. They actually live vaguely near me.

Anyway, I noticed that last week, Kevin said the same thing, and it made me laugh just as hard. But it was so bizarre, because there were 3 years between the references!

What's the story? Did anybody else enjoy this reference as much as I did?

It goes back many years to a Trivial Pursuit game.

My friends and I were addicted and we were VERY competitive.

If you remember Trivial Pursuit, you had to answer questions to get little pie shaped wedges.

One of the folks in my group was gloating that he was kicking our butts, but he was getting questions like "Vivien Leigh played Scarlett O'Hara in what 1939 feature film?" or "Holden Caulfield is the main character in what novel."

My question was about the man who invented Teflon.

Needless to say....I knew the answres to his questions, but had no knowledge of the inventor of Teflon.

Over the years....whenever anything difficult, yet trivial came up someone would say something about the guy who invented Teflon.

This morphed into "name the names of the children of the man who invented Teflon."

I'm sure to the gentleman (or woman) who invented Teflon. this is not trivial and I mean him no disrespect......so...if the children of the man who invented Teflon are podcast listeners.....please accept my apology and dontemail me.

That's the whole story.

Well, it's very funny. In case you didn't know, they are Michael, of Charlotte, NC and Patrick, of Reston, VA. Having a friend who actually knew the answer made me laugh pretty hard, too. Apparently I just find Teflon funny.

Thanks for telling the story!

This means that Kevin is so 'green' he even recycles his jokes :rotfl:

OMG, we still play Trivial Pursuit when we get together with extended family....guys vs. gals. We are all equally bad at it, but have a blast none-the-less.

This reminds me of the jokes my brother tells. He's told them so many times, that I crack up as soon as he starts setting up the joke. :rotfl2:

Too funny! I'm never any good at it, either. It always seems like somebody else gets all the easy ones and wins.
