Staying at the BCV in December. Is it possible to request a Keurig or do they not have them? I didn't think so, but thought I would ask

that's what I thought. Thanks!

We just bring our own also. I only drink regular and DW only drinks decaf, so a Keurig is a must have for us.

Even the Disney hotels don't have Keurigs. They have Cuisinart pod coffee makers and the pods look like round tea bags, not cups. DVC resorts have 10-12 cup Mr Coffee style coffee makers. You'll need flat bottom coffee filters if you plan on bringing your own coffee.

it's sad, but I don't know how to make regular coffee without a Keurig. I make 2 cups so that I can drink an iced coffee in the morning. Someone want to teach me? I really love my Dunkin Donuts dark roast. The regular is just a little too weak for me

I think Keurig coffee makers are one of the most popular items stored in Owner's Lockers. Unless you drive to WDW, I'd think OL would be the way to go with a "vacation Keurig". :)

Lucky for me that I don't drink coffee. I have no idea how much to scoop into the pot to make it. When I tried to follow the directions on the can, my husband stopped me because he said I used way too much coffee.

Haha funny because I don't think I scoop enough!

I rented a Keurig last year from business that provides grocery delivery services to WDW. It was $30 last year for a week. I will not be ordering it this year. I didn't like the unit itself, and this year the price for the rental has gone up to $50 for the week, plus a deposit. The service itself was great though. I may myself buy a mini.... We'll see!

For those of you that drive and take your Keurig, how do you keep the internal resivior from leaking?

Just keep it upright in the bag in the back of the SUV. Never had a single problem, but I doubt the Mini stores much inside anyway.

2 Tablespoons per (6 oz) "cup". The lines on the carafes are 6 oz, so for each of those "cups" you want 2T. I was always too "cheap" wioth my scooping in a regular coffeemaker. Once we got our Keurig, and got refillable cups and use our own coffee in them, my coffee got MUCH better because I was finally making a proper coffee! So find out how many fluid oz your cups of coffee tend to be, and work out how many tablespoons of coffee you'll need.

Editing in the red bit. Actually, since you likely use a normal kcup for each cup of coffee, you wouldn't want to do what I just said. Because the kcup has about 2T in it, and I know that I, personally, run enough water through my one kcup to make about 12oz of coffee. So I'm not making it properly even now LOL. So if you normally use 2 kcups for your daily dose of coffee, use 4T in the filter, and just use the right amount of water to make the amount you normally have in your personal cup of coffee.

I find it easier to just buy a proper coffee scoop that is already 2T, because it makes me feel better to just do *a scoop* rather than two. Even though it's the same amount total.

When I tried to follow the directions on the can, my husband stopped me because he said I used way too much coffee.

Crazy man. There's a whole Alton Brown episode that talks about coffee, and he is firm on the 2T thing. It actually makes the coffee *less* strong tasting, but I can't explain it like Alton does.

Then again, we're all used to the way we make it, so if your husband makes it a certain way and you were using more, I can understand that.

Denise - That was hilarious & sad all at the same time! Thanks for sharing it.
