I am thinking about buying a Keurig. I don't drink a lot of coffee in the summer, but I do like it during the winter, my girlfriend drinks it year round. Currently I have a krups drip machine that I have had for 10 or more years. It still works fine, but we tend to like our coffee brewed differently or different types, so I thought the single brew would be good.

For those that have one, what are your pros and cons.

I say go for it!! I own 3 of them. The B70 (at home), the B60 (at work) and I just bought the "baby" Keurig to bring with us to Disney and am going to leave in my Owners Locker.

I love coffee but only drink 2 cups a day. I also like freshly brewed and I was throwing away coffee and spending a fortune. I have also found that the drip makers do not have the temperature settings I want cause I like my coffee "burn your tongue" hot. Keurig has different temp settings and it makes it even better.

If you go to their website, they over over 200 coffee and teas to choose from and also hot chocolate. Enjoy. :)

Love Keurig. I think it's the best of the single serve coffee makers.

Cons: Expensive Coffee/Tea, Can't bring the coffee pot around for refills

I've been reading reviews and a lot of users are complaining about the coffee being weak.

Thoughts?

my in-laws have one and they really like it. I am not a coffee person, but I have tried the teas and I really like them. I know at our department store, Dilliard's, they always have a Kuerig on display for use. See is yours does, this way you can try before you buy!

BTW- She got hers off of QVC for a really good price last Christmas.

The coffee can be weak if you buy a weak brand. I buy GJ Black Gold and find it makes a nice hearty cup of coffee. You can also use any brand coffee you like in a special reusable single serve filter.

there is another thread around here with lots of info on the different types of coffee. i just got the bundle from costco and LOVE it!

Oh my goodness, the opposite is one reason I'm not real crazy about mine anymore! The coffee is always too strong, so I usually will run water through the cup twice in order to weaken it a bit. And it's still usually too strong.

OP, it does make a nice hot cup of coffee for the cold winter days!

I agree. It all depends on the type of coffee you buy. I have not tried the Black Gold yet, but I am going to now.:thumbsup2

I like the Lake and Lodge (Timothy's I think).

That's the bundle I am thinking about as well.

I love my Kuerig. There are so many blends, you can buy a full bodied coffee if you like. I wish I had purchased the model that makes three different size cups and if this one kicks the bucket I am getting that one.

I love ours!
Nothing bad to say about it!!

My favorite blend is "Caribou".
DH likes the French Vanilla the best.
DD loves the hot chocolate.

My one regret is that we don't have a better model. We have the B40. I'd love the B60.

We have the B60- DH is the only coffee drinker in the family, and he was wasting a lot of coffee with our old drip maker. He'd only drink about half a pot (usually 2 cups full), and end up throwing out the rest when it got old. Now, he makes only what he wants, one cup at a time. He loves the different varieties of coffee, and DD and I like the cocoa and tea selections.

The only cons we have come up with so far- the cost per cup is higher than the old drip makers (but we waste so much less, it ends up about even $$wise for us), and when guests come, everyone has to make their own cup rather than just making a pot that gets passed around.

It makes 4 different sizes.... :) I love using it for hot water for instant oatmeal too!

My husband just got me one last week. I love it. I just ordered 50 k-cups from ebay, can't wait till them come. Also, my local dept store has them in their home store and they are often on sale.

I love mine but don't buy too many kcups at one time.

I did when I first got mine, and I think the coffee goes stale even in the sealed cup. Coffee from the same box that was great at first now has no aroma to it.

Well, I bought it this evening. Both the girlfriend and I had a cup of coffee, and my son had a hot chocholate and one of the teas. So far I am pretty happy with it, I think it is going to work out well.

I did however realize I have really big coffee cups, even the large size which is 10.25 oz still is only half a cup....lol
