Keurig Mini in Owners Locker

I'm going to be putting a Keurig mini in our owners locker and am worried about internal bacteria and/or mold growing between visits. It doesn't seem to have an internal reservoir to empty (the water I put in is the same amount that comes out) but I'm still concerned. If you store a Keurig, can you tell me what you do to prevent any problems? Thanks!

We have one we use exclusively for WDW trips and we keep it in a box here just like you would an Owner's Locker between trips. When we get there, I generally run 3-5 cups through it with no K-Cup in it and we have never had a problem. Now I know some may poo-poo at that answer, but we've done it for years and years now with the same old Mini-Keurig and we have never had any issues whatsoever.

I agree with running several times with no K-cup. You could also keep a small bottle of white vinegar in your OL and run that through first, then follow with several runs of plain water. That will get bacteria/mold as well as mineral deposits.

Ours is often stored at home in the travel case, often many months. It's been in there since last July. I usually just run a cup or two to clean it out, but probably should do more just in case. I like the idea of using vinegar. I'll have to remember to do something like that before we leave. I've not had any issues with it after it's been packed up for months though.

I'd also run the vinegar through before you store it in the locker.

My Keurig Mini sits for many months at a time without being used with zero mold issues.

Be meticulous about drying, before storing. Thats what I do. The last time I use it, I let it air dry for several hours, then take a paper towel to every possible wet area. Then pack it. Haven't had any issues.

This is what we do as well. Never an issue and have had ours in our owners locker for over 2 years now.

I know this is an old thread but I am searching lists for ideas for our new owners locker and it came up. We have two homes we bounce back and forth from and before we leave each I clean it with the official Keurig cleaner. And then leave it all open. Never had a problem. You can find the bottle of cleaner on Amazon and its totally small enough to slip in your locker. You just run it through without a kcup.

Edit: I just went to order a new bottle for the locker and see Affresh sells tablets. I may try that. I haven‘t used the mini machine though. Always had a reservoir. There are also k-cup cleaners that look like a good option for a tankless system.
