So we got an early Christmas gift...the newest Keurig that will only take the pods/k cups with the Keurig logo on the box. Is there a universal filter/re-fillable thing we can buy to use all the non-Keurig logo pods/kcups we already have? It was a gift and I can't hurt anyone's feelings & return it. thanks!

I thought you could use any of the individual k-cups (Starbucks, green mountain, etc). It was the carafe k-cups that had to be the Keurig brand.

If the cup doesn't have a white ring around the it with 'Keurig Brewed' and a picture of a coffee cup on it, it will not brew (the bigger brands have these, but some smaller store brands don't, or even if you have older cups are from bigger brands, I have some that are both ways still). It give you the error message:

'Oops! This pack wasn't designed for this brewer. Please try one of the hundreds of packs with the Keurig logo.' Then it has a website address and 1-800 number.

So those "unofficial" brands won't work along with the Universal K-cup, and EZ cup like a PP stated to use.

To the OP, google 'Keurig 2.0 hack' and you will find videos and printed step-by-step instructions on how to use unofficial pods (or older ones) and EZ cups. Most involve taking a top off an official/newer one and taping it to the unofficial/older one while brewing.
