Kerry's Foreign Policy Plan

If Kerry's elected, what will he do?

  • Kerry will hunt and find terrorists wherever they are.

  • Kerry will make sure that our kitchen chairs are not empty.

  • Kerry will begin to withdraw our troops from Iraq in 6 months.

  • Kerry will broaden our coalition (despite France and Germany not participating and despite him losin

  • Kerry will (other--please explain below).

  • Kerry doesn't have a plan.

I just don't understand what Kerry's platform is regarding foreign policy. I know what he's said, and, alas, that's the gosh darn trouble!! He's said many things that, when put together with other things he's said AND the facts, it just doesn't do anything to alleviate my concerns or to clarify what I find confusing!

Can you help me, please?

We now know that the real coalition of the bribed and coerced was the UN Security Council. But, since this is the case, why hasn't Kerry come out and stated that he understands why we weren't getting anywhere with the UN? And, why does the Left--knowing this--STILL think that we didn't take advantage of all the diplomatic options before "rushing" to war?

Can someone please answer what Kerry's plan is? Since there are still undecided voters out there, don't they need to know Kerry's foreign policy plan before they cast their vote? Don't the Kerry supporters want to know Kerry's policy before they cast their vote? When I vote, I certainly want a clear picture of what my candidate stands for. How could I comfortably cast my vote if I don't even know what his stance is on the most important issue of our time?

France and Germany will still not get involved even if Kerry becomes President.

Kerry has said that he will be able to bring some troops home in 6 months--if he's elected and if his plan is followed--at the same time, weirdly enough, he says that he is going to broaden the coalition.

So, while stating he is going to broaden the coalition, he is ALSO actively campaigning against the pro-American Prime Minister of Australia, John Howard, and FOR the opposing candidate, Mark Latham--who has stated that Australia will not be part of a coalition and that they will remove their troops.

So, what countries, do you think, will be part of his new coalition? Not France, not Germany, not Australia (if he's successful, that is). . .who does he have in mind?

He says he has no idea what he will inherit January 20 (ugh. . .AS IF!!!!), that maybe Lebanon will be an issue! He "just doesn't know". . .but, even though he doesn't know, he has a plan. So, what is this "plan" that he has?

Edwards didn't clarify this the other night, either. At first, Edwards said that Kerry will hunt and fight terrorists wherever they are. But, then he asked Cheney if we're supposed to go into all 60** countries with terrorists? And, he also implied that none of us will have an empty chair at our dinner table anymore. As much as I wish all the troops would come home, too, if none of us have an empty chair at our kitchen table, who will be fighting the terrorists? **Richard Miniter's book, Shadow War, says we have captured or killed 3000 al Quaeda operatives in 102 countries!!! Looks like Edwards doesn't even know what's going on in the world.

Hello, anyone out there? Can anyone PLEASE enlighten me to what Kerry's foreign policy plan is? I did hear him at the debate, but he said the 6 month thing, he said the broadening coalition thing, and his sister--as Kerry's representative-was in Australia RIGHT THEN campaigning against the man who wants to remain part of our coalition!!!

So, I truly don't understand what Kerry's plan is! Can someone please tell me?

Im not really sure where to put mine...

I selected the last choice....

He may or may not have a plan but it doesnt really matter. It wouldnt do him any good having one after losing the election.

Kerry has no plan, and I really hope G.W. brings up these facts tonight. At least it will bring these points to the mainstream media forefront for a little while instead of just "NO WMD's".

Since your poll isn't really a poll, I couldn't vote.

If all you're wanting (and I'm betting your question is purely rhetorical) is a general foreign policy outline, here you go...

Launch And Lead A New Era Of Alliances
The threat of terrorism demands alliances on a global scale - to utilize every available resource to get the terrorists before they can strike at us. As president, John Kerry will lead a coalition of the able - because no force on earth is more able than the United States and its allies.

Modernize The World's Most Powerful Military To Meet New Threats
John Kerry and John Edwards have a plan to transform the world's most powerful military to better address the modern threats of terrorism and proliferation, while ensuring that we have enough properly trained and equipped troops to meet our enduring strategic and regional missions.

Deploy All That Is In America's Arsenal
The war on terror cannot be won by military might alone. As president, John Kerry will deploy all the forces in America's arsenal - our diplomacy, our intelligence system, our economic power, and the appeal of our values and ideas - to make America more secure and prevent a new generation of terrorists from emerging.

Free America From Its Dangerous Dependence On Mideast Oil
To secure our full independence and freedom, we must free America from its dangerous dependence on Mideast oil. By tapping American ingenuity, we can achieve that goal while growing our economy and protecting our environment.

Btw, what is Bush's foreign policy?

he asked Cheney if we're supposed to go into all 60** countries with terrorists?

No, he didn't. He asked if we were supposed to declare war on all 60+ countries.

I picked other because you didn't have an "all of the above" in the choices.

Deploy All That Is In America's Arsenal

Free America From Its Dangerous Dependence On Mideast Oil
To dream the impossible dream......!

What got to Bush? Here's what I think: It was not the brilliance of Kerry's debating tactics but the absurdity of the essence of the new Kerry position: The war on Iraq is an easy thing. The reason bad things are happening is Bush is bungling.

Give that man a wand and slap a pair of wings on his back: John Kerry is running for fairy godmother! Our allies are opposed to the war? A swoosh of the Kerry wand and President Kerry will have the French and Germans rushing to our rescue in no time. Iraq needs a new army to defend itself? Zap bing -- the Kerry touch will make training an Iraqi army faster and easier. Al-Qaida and other terrorists are pouring over the border to join the fight? When Kerry is elected, the guerrilla insurgency will magically disappear. A summit? How brilliant! Why didn't President Bush think of that?

Overthrow Saddam Hussein with less than 1,000 casualties and build a free, democratic ally to help us fight terror in the Middle East? Oh, that's easy. Or such is the Kerry promise.

Bush had trouble believing what he was hearing. And so, ultimately, I think will a lot of other Americans.

But what if these so called Allies dont give their "seal of approval" to go after these guys, how is he going to deliver.

At least Bush has the balls to go in and do it even though he didnt have the bribe takers backing.

Really?

Read the report and then talk to me about Poland.

How much "balls" does it take to send someone else's kid to die?

Yeah, I'm waiting for that answer too.

So far all I've seen is:

1) Say whatever you have to in order to justify your actions.
2) If you get caught in the lie, make up new reasons as you go.

That's a great plan!

The right is very good at posting editorial pieces, but since when is someone's opinion fact?
OK...

Fact: France and Germany have clearly signaled, and their governments have promised their citizens that they won't go near Iraq. Kerry even admitted this in recent days at a campaign stop.

Fact: Iran and China have strongly rejected Kerry's proposals about fuel rods and bi-lateral talks with North Korea.

Fact: If you accept the Duelfer report with regard to WMD stockpiles, the same report sheds damning evidence that members of foreign governments opposed to US intervention in Iraq were "on the take" from Saddam using money and vouchers that were improperly derived from the UN's own Oil-For-Food humanitarian program. Any "global test" for Iraq appears to have been rigged.

Fact: The same reports clearly shows that the international sanctions against Iraq weren't effective.

Kerry will use the Magic Eight Ball. Every cabinet member, including Madelyn Halfbright will be issued their own Eight Ball. When the question is posed during national security meetings, all will shake their balls simultaneously for 13 seconds and read the results. Questions will have to be those that require one word answers. This should not be a problem for John Edwards. He can work the legal language so this condition is met. This will not only enable him to ask these important questions but to be able to be on any side of the issue. We could actually plan for a national referendum based on distribution of Magic Eight Balls to the voting populace. We certainly wouldn't want to look at Kerry's record because that would confuse us. Its hard to really scrutinize a record that has been on the wrong side of history and sleep at night. The Magic Eight ball will be the plan.

how ironic,

seems to me,Kerry doesnt want us to drill in alaska,
he wont proceed with yucca mountain. (thats where the U.S. would store spent nuclear fuel from power plants)

guess maybe hes just gonna build windmills to take advantage of the wind caused by all his talking about a "plan"

In regard to rooting out terrorists and any who harbor and aid them? I think his plan is pretty clear. Lead, follow, or get the hell out of the way. Like it or not, that's his plan.

Now your turn. What is Kerry's plan when the "allies" don't join?
