Perpetually looking for an excuse, John Kerry told NBC newsman Tom Brokaw last week that the reason President Bush outscored him on military intelligence tests was that he had likely been drinking the night before the exam.

I also find it interesting that the Senator, who insisted that all of his records were released seemed surprised that these records were released. He is a bit touchy, wouldn't you say?

I thought Bush was the drinker and the dumb one.

BTW, I laugh at the people who say that they won't vote for Bush because he isn't intelligent enough to be president. With a Yale degree and a Harvard MBA, he's far more educated than 99% of the people voting against him for being stupid.

He was an alcoholic and shouldn't have been allowed into office.

A Yale degree and a Harvard MBA doesn't make you far more educated than 99% of the people voting against him. I suggest you go look at his grades and how he got into those schools. Also, check out how he applied his knowledge from these schools to former businesses.

chadfromdallas-- ::yes::

How could anyone believe his father had nothing to do with his getting into a prestigious college??

Yeah, well Kennedy was a drug addict and Clinton was a sex addict. :D ;)

Good idea. Let's ask Kerry how he got into Yale.

I know were joking here, but why in the hell does our system let a drug addict and alcoholic into the works of such high offices?!?!

Hmmm... last time I checked the Constitutional requirements for President, accusing someone of being an alchoholic didn't disqualify them for President. Seems Kerry was drunk the night before taking his military tests. What sort of responsible leader s that?

This is such a lame arguement. I can't believe the anti-Bush crowd still uses it.

Look at the risks Clinton took in judgement with his philandering and his eating. No one seems to have minded that.

Lame arguement? Read my post! It doesn't say it in the constitution, it SHOULD.

Then you come back with Clinton's affair and eating? Are you kidding me?

This thread is so dumb
people make mistakes all the time
BOTH MEN HAVE
dont you have anything better to do than only judge the candidate you dont like
if you cant be objective about both mens faults you shouldnt post
we are all entitled to our opinions but
its very transparent

Well, I was kind of joking. ;) Kennedy was on pain meds for chronic back problems. I guess it doesn;t bother me as long as they are not drunks IN office and they don't play with "the button" while ingesting pain meds. :D

If I were 22 years old and was about to jump into that mess in Vietnam, I'd get drunk too.

I don't think the fact that Bush is a recovering alcoholic should keep him out of the White House. There are so many more important reasons why he should be voted out of office and shouldn't have been voted in in the first place. Oh wait, he wasn't voted into office. The Supreme Court put him there.

Dear Chad, glad to see you wanted Clinton impeached too because he is a liar and an adulterer. I guess JFK should have been impeached for all of his alduterous afairs as well?

Well at least you're consistent!

So, is it just drinking that should disqualify them? What about other bad habits? Think how much exposure you would have were you to sleep around like Kennedy and Clinton. And the eating thing is relevant. Look at Clinton's health now. Do we want a President that might keel over with a heart attack at any minute? What about smoking? Knowing what we know today, that sure exhibits bad judgement. (and yes we could put Cheney in the same "eating" category). What about hemp? I mean, some states are close to legalizing it. What if a President came from a state that legalized marjuanana and saw no problem smoking a doobie once or twice? Where does it end?

Dear snarfer,

For lying under oath, yes.
For a(n) affair(s), no.

Spoken like someone who understands not how the election system works. Gotta love those four year old talking points. (Pssst! Look! Over there! Elvis!!! He's alive!!!)
