Kermit & Miss Piggy take on 10 Days of Delicious Disney Dining! Updated 7/15 IM BACK!

That sandwich looks really nice. I love toasted sandwiches (which probably explains why EoS is one of my favourite places at Disney). What was the filling in it?

Looking forward ot reading about BOG :cool1:

Signing on! Really enjoying your report and sense of humour. Oh, and the food porn doesn't hurt either, LOL! :thumbsup2 Looking forward to reading about your BOG experience! :goodvibes

Thanks for reading :) I <3 Food Porn!!! Which is why Im addicted to the dining boards....:lmao:

Can you believe I have yet to have EoS???? Which never make is to DtD anymore...My mouth always waters looking at the pics!

The hot Italian at Catalina Eddie's wasn't really that Italian to me...It was Ham, Turkey, and provolone...it also had some Ceaser Dressing on it. It was good, but not really all that Italian :confused3

And now we invite you to relax, let us pull up a
chair as the dining room proudly presents -
your dinner!

I was soooooooooooo very excited to finally see New Fantasyland and was overjoyed to score a dinner reservation at Be Our Guest for 6pm on our first full Disney Park Day :goodvibes

We arrived at Magic Kingdom after our break at the hotel and walked right into New Fantasyland. I know it's not food porn but I really liked the pic I got of the entrance...

We went past ETWB and saw the wait was 90 minutes :scared1: Guess we will be doing that one another time....We checked into the Castle and I had Kermit go back and get Ariel FPs because I just HAD to ride that one the first night :woohoo:

We checked in right at 6pm and waited on the bridge. I requested the main dining room and they said they would try their best to seat us there. Robin LOVED checking out the gargoyles on the bridge and kept talking about meeting Beast. He also got some of his "animal" energy out by running back and forth across the bridge. Kermit and I just stood on either side and let him run and run and run and run. I swear if I could have that much fun running, I wouldn't be Miss Piggy size :rotfl:
We only waited about 10 minutes and entered the Castle. It is so pretty and detailed. There were a lot of archways, which I always love. Check out the archway into the ballroom!

There was also marble everywhere, mosaics, and rich fabrics. Very regal and romantic. :lovestrucThe ambiance is just magical to me :wizard:
The Maitre D had Robin hold a candle stick and lead us to our table. He was overjoyed to have a special job

The lighting was low with lots of candlelight on the tables and in the chandeliers. I think this really adds to the romantic vibe in this room. But for a 3yr old, the candle on the table (although it was electric) becomes an instant toy. We wrestled it out of his stubborn hands and told him the Beast needed an extra light for his table :thumbsup2 The table settings were also very lovely, the napkins were little roses and so cute :goodvibes

But they were even cuter on the baby Muppet's head!

Here's a shot of our view of the ballroom, we weren't right next to the window but we had a nice view of the whole room and could see the snow falling.

And the beautiful ceilings!

We also were kind of close to a 2 top of ladies who were celebrating a birthday. I think it was a woman and her mother, they were Southern and really sweet. The mother was about 70 and kept making faces at the baby which he happily made back at her. They both loved every minute! They actually tapped me on the shoulder to say hello a few days later at the MK. I just love meeting other nice Disney Fans when I'm in the World :goodvibes

Our server came and we noticed she was from Maine too! She was wicked excited to talk with us :thumbsup2 She told us her Mom still lived there but she hadn't been back for 10 yrs. We told her about the 36" of snow we got on Robin's birthday, when Winter Storm Nemo visited us and she said she wouldn't be back for at least another 10!

Coming up, the FOOD!

Our server took our drink order, Kermit was boring and had a Diet Coke. Robin and I, however, knew we had to indulge! I was of course going to order my first alcoholic beverage in the MK :drinking1 I decided on the Kronenbourg since I like lighter beers.

It was light and refreshing, but no buzz factor at all.

Robin got his first ever CHOCOLATE MILK! which he of course LOVED

Not sure if it was this or the cupcake to follow, but he Robin definetely had his sugar buzz going later on :hyper:
We also were given some yummy rolls. They dont look that exciting but they were warm and crusty and the butter was perfectly salted. They disappeared fast

I was the only one to order an appetizer and I chose the Garden Salad with Champagne Vinnagrette.

It was a basic salad with a refreshing and tangy dressing. This was one of the better dressings I tried this trip. I just wanted something healthy to start with (so I didn't feel THAT guilty with the rest of my choices) and this hit the spot.

For our entress Kermit ordered

Grilled Strip Steak - with garlic-herb butter and pommes frites.
He absolutely loved this. We have had steak all over WDW including Le Cellier and California Grill, and this was right up there with them. The steak was cooked perfectly to medium, how Kermit likes it, and the butter on top made the steak totally delectable. I know because I had a few bites of course! :lmao: The pomme frites with herb mayo and green beans were also yummy.

I ordered

Sauteed Shrimp and Scallops - with seasonal vegetables served in puff pastry with a creamy lobster sauce

It wasn't exactly what I expected, but it was really yummy. I guess I thought the sauce would be a white sauce, but it was more of a thickened broth. I don't remember seeing any lobster meat either, but there was plenty of shrimp and scallops. The veggies consisted of mushrooms, carrots, & spinach, they were cooked well and added some nice flavor and contrast to the rich sauce. The overall portion inside the pastry was actually less than I expected but it filled me up since I had the salad. The pastry was really buttery and flaky and YUMMYYYYYYYYY I soaked up the sauce with it as much as I could :goodvibes

Robin had

Mickey Shaped Turkey Meatloaf with Zuchinni & Broccoli. Of course we gave the kid some fries, no way could we get away with having those on the table and not hear about it! He ate all the meatloaf and fries, then we bribed him with a cupcake so he would eat most of the green stuff :thumbsup2

For dessert we all shared

Lemon Meringue Cupcake

Originally Kermit said he wanted to get the chocolate one for himself, but then he said he was too full. I also thought I was full, until I tried a bite of this cupcake. OH MY GOD YUM. I have heard mixed feelings on the boards about the cupcakes, but I have to say I loved it. I love lemon desserts and this had some yummy lemon filling inside the moist cake. The toasty and gooey meringue added some fun to the top. I could of eaten it myself but Robin was not letting me get away with it!

I often read people have trouble with the cupcake wrappers. I had no trouble whatsoever. I just looked for the little tab on the side where the paper met, pulled that and the wrapper around it pulled right off. That left the bottom paper to keep the cupcake in tact.

Our server noticed it was my Birthday so she brought me

The Grey Stuff!
This was a nice little finishing touch of mousse. I've heard it's cookies and cream flavored, and that is probably the closest thing I could tell it tasted like. The flavor isn't very prounounced, but I liked it that way after such a heavy meal.

During dinner, our gracious host came out to say hello!
Robin was STARSTRUCK! Beast is one of his favorites, and when he saw him his little eyes lit up. He was so excited when we told him he would get to meet him. Also, you can see the lady we chatted with at the next table while we were here, if you are reading Hi Again! :wave2:

WARNING:
The food portion of our journey is now concluded. The following story may make you lose your appetite, but it's too funny not to share.

My dear muppet of a son, Robin, informed us he had to use the potty before we went to meet the Beast. Kermit took him while I waited in the lobby with the baby and chatted up several hosts and hostesses. As I was mid conversation with a lovely hostess, Robin came running out of the bathroom and yelled at the top of his lungs....
I POOPED IN THE BEASTS' POTTY!!!!!!! I POOPED IN THE BEASTS' POTTY!!!!!!
The hostess laughed hysterically and told him the Beast would be proud.

Sooooooooooooo guess what Robin decided to share with the Beast at our meet and greet??? Beast even gave him a high five! It was too cute :lmao
:

Up Next....Breakfast at Chef Mickey's

OMG! Too funny! Atleast Beast took it in stride!
That shrimp and scallops is exactly what I want to order in Sept for our dinner and I know DH will want the steak as that what he gets everywhere in WDW! lol

I know! I was glad we didn't get kicked out lol
I'm sure you will love BoG as much as we did :)

LMAO!!!! That sounds like something one of my "muppets" would have done at Robin's age. :lmao: Good for Beast for giving Robin a well-deserved high five, pooping in the potty is a big deal when you're a little guy. :thumbsup2

LOVED the BOG review, it's one of the restaurants I'm especially looking forward to come October.

OMG - Love it!
Pooping in Beast's potty is something to be very proud of :lmao:

It was definitely well deserved-Potty Training is my LEAST favorite parental responsibility so far....I have a dog who has accidents in my house, potty training 3 yr old AND a baby. I want to be DONE cleaning Robin's messes! :cool1:

I really wanted to get to BoG for lunch this trip too but the lines were SO long that I'm glad we did dinner this trip. Hopefully by the time we go again the newness will have faded and the lines will be shorter. So glad we got to experience it though :goodvibes

It's funny what you are proud of as parents....wouldn't have it any other way though! :thumbsup2

Saturday we decided to skip the parks and just take it easy. This day we were switching resorts to Bay Lake Tower, so we decided to get some quality time in with the characters while our room got ready. I was really looking forward to this meal as I LOVE breakfast food. I never used to be a big breakfast person but when I was pregnant with Robin I could barely eat in the first trimester (Best Diet of my life! :lmao:) and the only protein I could keep down was scrambled eggs. So I basically ate breakfast for every meal.

We took a bus from POR to MK and then walked over to Bay Lake Tower to check in. For anyone who is thinking of switching resorts, we took advantage of the luggage transfer service and it was GREAT! We didn't have to pay for a cab or lug our bags on the bus. I was nervous because they didn't give us any claim tags but they did a great job and we had all our stuff by 1pm. Ok back to the reason we are here, the FOOD!

We checked into Chef Mickey's right at our reservation time of 9:30am and skipped the picture with fake Mickey. They had the TV going in the lobby area to the left of check in so of course that's how Robin passed the time. We waited about 10 minutes and were seated up the steps toward the back of the restaurant. The host we had was so sweet, I wish we had gotten his name. He took Robin by the hand and led him to the table, swinging his hand and singing the Mickey song they do there. SO CUTE. They were also awesome and brought us an infant high chair! When you have a little one that isn't quite big enough to sit in a high chair, and you don't have a car seat, you end up passing them back and forth and trying to shovel food in your mouth. NOT ideal, and for this meal we got a nice break from that. As loud and crazy as Chef Mickey's can be, this was one of our more relaxing meals :lmao:
Check him out ready to wave his napkin!

I continued to ask at every other restaurant we went too if they had these infant highchairs, Chef Mickey's was the only one :headache: If anyone else found them in the World let me know!

We had eaten here once before and were in the same area, nice and close to the buffet. Our server was very friendly and filled our drinks quickly, you could tell she had been here a while and knew the script about the buffet very well. She brought OJ and coffee out and milk for Robin. I asked if they could make me an iced coffee and she did, it was decent too! SCORE!

Our server told us we had a little time until the characters arrived so I took Robin up to get our plate. The buffet has two sides and the one closest to us actually had a decent line going. I walked around to the other side (closer to the entrance) and there was no one there, DOUBLE SCORE!
Here's the plate Robin and I shared to start off with. I could have gotten his own but I would rather make more trips than balance two plates and a crazy toddler!

Oh man my mouth is watering! There was nothing I didn't like, total Miss Piggy Meal :thumbsup2
Starting from the top and going clockwise...we have a Croissant, Bacon, Scrambled Eggs with cheese sauce (big surprise!), Creamy Breakfast Potatoes, Spinach Breakfast Lasagna, Pineapple and Strawberries with yogurt and granola, Whipped Cream & Strawberries, Italian Sausage (the little nugget in the middle of the plate) and Breakfast Pizza
Holy cow Robin and I both loved everything, seriously we devoured it. I really liked the fact that they had all different toppings for the scrambled eggs. The Italian sausage pieces were part of that, plus cheese sauce, onions, peppers, mushrooms etc.
We really need to take a minute and talk about those potatoes though. OMG they must have crack in them because I am ADDICTED. I need to find this recipe ASAP and make it for myself for Mother's Day (Kermit can't cook and I deserve those potatoes! :lmao:)
Here's Kermit's plate

Pretty much the same as mine but he had some sausage links as well.
After we had finished our first plates we noticed the characters coming around. We had some great interactions, especially Daisy Duck. She just LOVED baby muppet and spent lots of extra time with him. :goodvibes
First was Pluto, Baby's First Character Meet!

Then Donald, One of Robin's favorite as his Grandpa shares his name (and temper! ;))

Then the BIG CHEESE!

Baby Muppet is like ummmm WHO do you think you are? :lmao:

Next up Daddy's Favorite...

But NOT Baby Muppets'...

Last but not least, Miss Piggy's favorite friend :goodvibes

It was nice the characters came one after another, it gave us time to digest our first plates so we could go back for more!

A plate of Mickey Waffles and Cheese Blintzes NOM NOM NOM
Seriously why do I do my updates late at night???? :lmao:
The waffles were awesome dipped in a big bowl of syrup and the blintzes were sweet and yummy. Oh yeah and more BACON & SAUSAGE for Miss Piggy :rolleyes1
I didn't get a chance to take a pic of Kermit's second plate but he just got some yogurt and fruit. I tried to tell him he needed to shovel more food in as this breakfast was gonna cost us $100 but his little skinny frog legs just couldn't fit any more :sad2:
I did however pull the old lady number and grab some apples, bananas, and oranges for the room :thumbsup2
And then as we were leaving Robin saw the sweets table and proceeded to swipe a rice crispie treat and brownie as we were walking by! What a fast little frog....
We really enjoyed our meal here. We loved the food, the service, the characters, and even the atmosphere. We may try dinner eventually as we have never done it, but I don't know if I can pull myself away from breakfast. This was a perfect way to start our stay at Bay Lake Tower!

Coming up...Kouzzina OPA!

The Beast's potty. :rotfl:

Not as funny but my daughter was thrilled to find out that while at BBB she was in the same exact chair that Tiana sits in to get herself styled. When the FGIT told her that, her eyes became as big as saucers and she told her grandparents when they called all about it.:goodvibes

Loving your TR and the food pics, so glad I had a bowl of fruit and yogurt infront of me this morning! LOL Its hard sticking to a diet reading these! LOl

The pics of the baby smiling at the characters are priceless! Looks like you have a very happy baby on your hands!!

That story is hilarious! Kids say the darndest things!

Yeah Robin is a character....you never know what he will say or do next!

Yeah I seriously am having a hard time adjusting to real life portions after being there for 10 days!

And yes he is a very happy baby...but very attached to me :goodvibes If I walk away and someone else is holding him, well that's when he gets upset! I have to say I think it's sweet though :goodvibes

Oh wow breakfast at Chef Mickey's looks incredible!

I originally planned to do dinner there and was a little bummed when I had to change my plans to do breakfast but I'm no longer worried thanks to your review.

Im so glad they really love the characters....I saw a little girl next to us freak out every time a character got within 10 feet of her. Probably helps we have been playing every Disney DVD and song since they were in the womb :rotfl:
